bzc3lk Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) Found this clip showing the start up of a restored Jumo 004, certainly not the sound I was expecting. Exhibits a strange rumbling sound instead of the usual high pitched turbine whine after start up. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152841379843666 Edited June 1, 2016 by bzc3lk
Asgar Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) nice! looking forward to seeing a 262 in 99.9% original condition flying it's gonna be very interesting to see how the engine performs when being built with the right material Edited June 1, 2016 by 6./ZG26_Asgar
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) Floating around for some time now but it's always nice to listen to it again. About the rambling noise, that's not the engine itself but infact the starter which basicly was a 2 cylinder motor coupled with the jet engine. Once brought up to it's min revolutions the starter was decoupled and the engine could run on it's own. Edited June 1, 2016 by 6./ZG26_5tuka
