ThudThunder Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Hello, This is mainly an idea from MP as SP campaign already provides the pilot with headings to navigate by. Idea: A simple compass rose would be added that, when clicked, you would be able to drag a line to a point and the heading to fly to that point would appear. Why: I often find myself guessing a rough heading when navigating and then adjusting it as I observe landmarks during the flight. In reality, with a paper map, it would be easier to simply overlay a clear compass onto the map and make a more accurate guess at your heading. Having an interactive compass would make it quicker and more efficient to plan your flight before taking off. I am not a software developer, but this seems like a relatively unobtrusive add on to the game. What are your thoughts?
TG-55Panthercules Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 It's not in the game, but I think the map/tool thingy Nobby made will do this sort of thing - been quite a while since I messed with it (haven't been flying BoS lately due to persistent graphical issues), but IIRC it was pretty easy to lay out your course legs on his map/app and read off your headings, etc. much like you describe above. If Nobby could do it I assume the devs probably could as well, if they wanted to.
ThudThunder Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 That is good to hear it would be doable. It would certainly make MP missions more realistic and effective.
