So what you dream of is destroying Hurricanes and Tomahawks in a far superior 109 G2 if I understand... no way...just no...

What we need is some very powerful ally planes that are somewhat equal if not superior to the German planes to make an interesting game.

All I dream of Is LA-5 FN, La-7, Yak-3 or Spit IX for the allies.

The desert war was a turkey shoot for the very few modern German planes such as the G2 that we see here.

Also the Axis would have to fight mostly with G.50 MC.200 and 109 E7 to make it realistic.

Historically, periods where each side had a 'balanced plane set' were short since improvement on one side would be followed by one on the other until one side could no longer keep up in any significant numbers (think late war 190's, Ki-84/100, etc). Generally speaking, it was advantage Axis until, say, late 1942, then the Allies took the lead.

The later scenarios in 1942 when the Spitfire V showed up and redressed some of the balance between the 109s and the P-40s/Hurricanes that had been fighting up till then definitely work well. We had some very successful scenarios running on IL-2 1946 with that sort of lineup.

This balanced plane set concept will exclude a lot of planes and periods from WW2 time line. Some theaters of operation will never be modeled if we follow this idea.

 

People need to get the numbers and tactics. Red pilots are very successful flying I16s on ZG26 Moscow only server.

Of course I don't doubt about the possibilities (I love flying I-16s) but I would like something different than what we currently have, something that would be a bit the other way around because with the current period of the war covered by BoS BoM I feel like the Germans tend to have the edge and I'm just dreaming of something different and I'm not really all out for balance.

I'm just craving for a drastic change to avoid having similar situations and get more variety out of it if you will.

If you truly want something different than the tiny disposable VVS aircraft and the slow and ugly 109's flying over the endless monotony of the east. You want the PTO with the F4U Corsair, Wildcat, late war P-47's and P-51 vs. the JAAF. Not only does the Tony Ki-61 look better than any iteration of the lumps and bumps on the 109 ,it better armed etc. You get to fly over colorful dramatic scenery, with real weather hazards.
