216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 It's hard to say. Worth remembering is that the remaining 20% include, and this is only in Europe, the Nordics, Poland and the Baltics for example. All of these have a very considerably active player base, and one which I thought to be pretty big. At this point Australia and New Zealand could be anything from 1% to 19%. In an eventual Pacific theatre, I'd venture the player numbers would grow as much as they would with any other theatre, with Europe purchasing less but the US/Australia/NZ making up for it.
Asgar Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Lucas, i said it before, i have no problem with a PTO expansion as long as they include my Me 410 but honestly. i wouldn't mind blowing up some Yanks with a A6M or a Ki 61 (with the correct version we could still have our MG 151/20 :D 1
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Yes ! Plz, all my childhood I was dreaming of blowing up At-At ! 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I spent hours trying to get those down on Rogue Squadron 3D with the Snowspeeder. Initially I didn't read the booklet that came with the game properly, so I tried to do it by shooting at the thing, which was useless. Career fighter pilots tried as well, and with no success. Only then I sat down to read the booklet and figured that the cables were the way to go, like in the movie. It took a little bit of practice but I finally passed "Defection at Corellia"
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I was more of a fan of B-wing. And sleek and beautiful N-1 Naboo fighter
Gambit21 Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I've always thought a truly well done Star Wars sim would be amazing, and honestly expected to have it by now. 1
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Then I guess we can all unite and call for it - Il-2 Battle of Yavin ? 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 So long as they can find a droid unit capable of translating all the Empire wind tunnel data, I'm in.
Asgar Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 ...so in theory...? i'm ok with that. as i said. as long as the 410 is in there i'm fine with it :D 2
Jade_Monkey Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Based on VERY ROUGH estimates using the member search function with the filters by product (leaving out all the accounts without a linked product), and assuming everyone paid full price in USD (which we all know it doesnt take the sales into account) this is what I got. I'm not sure if the russian forum members show up here or if they are not included. Obviously we can make more assumptions about what % of the sales are at a discount.
BlitzPig_EL Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I'm more curious about how long it took BoS to sell 3600 Premium versions vs. how long it took BoM. Note also the dramatic percentage difference of the basic and premium versions in the two releases. That is also quite troubling.
Feathered_IV Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 If the ratio of those figures is indicative of overall sales, "more of the same" will be a failure. Time to add the gameplay and upgrade the placeholder features. 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I wouldn't trust the forum search - first, the number of Battle of Stalingrad owners shown here is less than half of Steam BoS players. Also, I tested it with 55 IAP and according to the search only one out of four of us has BoS apparently, and I'm not one of them. No more LaGG-3 for me apparently 1
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Ki 61 (with the correct version we could still have our MG 151/20 :D To be honest this could be solved the same way we have Mc.202, by upgrades. Ki-61 Ko to Hei models carried no major changes, no changes to airframe or power unit. Mostly they were related to improvement of armament, decrease of fuel carried internally and increase of armor and fuel tank protection. Hence why I put Ki-61-I in my New Guinea proposition without specifying any model. No more LaGG-3 for me apparently Man, I would be sad if I could not fly my Snow Cat.
TheElf Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 (edited) ...so in theory...? What an unfortunate thing...I am a huge SW fan and I didn't even touch this drivel. Perhaps if there was a 410, that might persuade me. Edited June 5, 2016 by TheElf 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 So... We're torn between Battle of Hoth with Me-410s and Battle of Yavin?
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Dont forget about Endor !! To blow up Executor-class Super Star Destroyer is something even better than blowing up At-At : Sidenote : Executor is damn well looking spaceship !

Rjel Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Thanks Panzerbar so about 60,5% from 9 European countries, 19% USA and only 20,5% for the rest of the world including 42 European countries and 40 North American that didn't go in the mix. Where are these 40 North American countries you mentioned? I've apparently misplaced a couple someplace.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 You know, better ignore that - I'm a little overworked so I accidentally had NA annex Central America Some inspiration...
Rjel Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 (edited) The choice is simple this year That was an excellent video. IL-2 is still an amazing looking game. I would definitely be on board for Pacific sim. It was so much more than just water and islands, with the new engine the scenery would be stunning. Edited June 5, 2016 by Rjel

Western world is sooooo bad and mistreating the glorious Russians Sorry for Okay. Let me apologize. We're all sorry. The Soviets have always been the bastions of truth.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Not going there but the channel that posted is American, and the production is a joint American-Soviet one with an American script, so...
Flynco Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I hope also oculus rift support on the oder end the game will be death....
LLv24_Zami Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Not going there but the channel that posted is American, and the production is a joint American-Soviet one with an American script, so... And it means absolutely nothing in todays world if the channel is in America, I`m sure you know that. I was talking the description of that text, not the film itself. I haven`t watched it yet but I will. It is advisable to everyone follow different sources. That description just caught my attention. BTW, I did not see anything else in that channel but that series.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 The Unknown War was made as a counter to the deliberate distortions in the Anglo-American series The World At War, which chose to give as much coverage to the US in Italy as it did to the Red Army at war from the Arctic to the Black Sea. So blatant was the politically motivated distortion in The World At War that the Soviet authorities ultimately refused to cooperate in its production. Instead they set out to make a documentary series of their own that would tell the real story of the War in the East. The Eastern (Russian) Front of WW2 has been side-lined in the Western media for decades, reduced to just "one aspect" of the War, if it is even mentioned at all. Certainly there is never any recognition given to the fact that it was the main, decisive arena of WW2, the scene of a titanic struggle that, at the cost of 30 million Soviet lives, saved the world from fascism. I read the description, is this the bit you have a problem with? Regardless of how you put it, there is a lack of consideration for the war in the Soviet Union in the West. I've studied on both sides of the world and from personal experience, in the West people will shrug the Eastern Front as 'Barbarossa-Stalingrad-Berlin, anyway here's D-Day', while in Russia I ended up surrounded by classmates who wanted to listen to the detailed statistics of the number of trucks destroyed by 1º GAvCa (1st Brazilian Fighter Aviation Group) in Italy. In the Victory Museum there are fairly large sections dedicated to the Arctic Convoys and the transfer of foreign equipment to the Soviet Union, and it is always stressed how it helped win the war and save many Soviet lives. If you remember, that time the leaders of major EU countries snubbed the Victory Parade the Russian response was to simply invite veterans of the Arctic Convoys and give them the front-row seats in the middle of the Red Square. There are lots of modern-day rubbish out there from both sides (for example in the new Russian war film 'Diversant' when Soviet and American troops meet the main character, a Russian infantryman, starts shouting at an American Major "why did you not open the second front" in a scene so ridiculous I stopped watching the movie), but that the West during the Cold War and after its end snubbed the Soviet contribution to WW2 is factual. Since this is entering politics and opinions I'll drop it - we all just really want to know that new theatre... ...ah, me needs a holiday in Sochi...

It`s the whole text, it just eats credibility of the film in my eyes. The film itself might be very good, as I said I`ll watch it. Everybody tells his own history and emphasize their own part. That is natural. But I don`t think western are any more ignorant than the Russians in these matters. But that does not belong here. We are all waiting for a new theatre but in fact I`m waiting more for future patches for BoM atm . You know, FM stuff, improvements to the campaing and other goodies 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 (edited) Leaving it here as well Give the series a go, it's some 20 episodes long and while it has a few questionable bits (notably the overreaching use of "Russian" instead of "Soviet", the statement that Soviet aircraft were less manoeuvrable on the horizontal than German ones in 1941, and my favourite, Brezhnev who managed to somehow sneak his name into the first episode when they introduce the major Soviet commanders like, you know, Zhukov, Konev, etc. etc, "and young Colonel Leonid Brezhnev" ). Above all its content is not revolutionary in any way, since it was meant as a 'basic history' of the Great Patriotic War to tell the story in more depth to people who didn't know as much about it, but it's interesting. The thing I like the most about it is the visual content - hours of archive footage which were never seen before, from Soviet, American, British and German archives. You have stuff like Pe-8s taking off and landing at night, Soviet footage of the Luftwaffe's Operation Barbarossa air attacks, Soviet Hurricanes taking off in formation, guncam from all countries, etc. I wonder when will this next patch come out considering how intensive the last one was and how they probably spent a few days locked in a room discussing their next steps. Hopefully soon, there were some goodies in the works that I'd like to see Edited June 5, 2016 by 55IAP_Lucas_From_Hell

216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 An afterthought to the Kuban planeset proposed. We could do away with the Il-2 and replace it with the U-2 instead, since they were very active as night bombers, spotters and anything you name in the area at the time 1
Gambit21 Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 That was an excellent video. IL-2 is still an amazing looking game. I would definitely be on board for Pacific sim. It was so much more than just water and islands, with the new engine the scenery would be stunning. We've never been been able to take off from Rabual and bomb Henderson in any sim - that needs to happen. Battle of Guadalcanal Then after that the fighting moves up the slot toward Rabaul and you have Corsairs (Blacksheep Campaign!) P38's....oh my.
A_radek Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 (edited) Just a thought. Could the 202 be a clue as to what's next? Considering the relatively small planeset one would think the 202 would be a very low priority plane to include in an eastern front sim. As if it was really intended for something else. Unless of course it was just a favorite aircraft of the guy that had the most say about what planes to make and there is no other purpose for it. Although In that case, same guy might want to put it into It's proper environment. Holy conspiracies Edited June 5, 2016 by aa_radek
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 We've never been been able to take off from Rabual and bomb Henderson in any sim - that needs to happen. I seriously want to see a person flying continuously 6+ hours - take-off, forming up, cruising from Rabaul to Henderson, 30 min combat over Guadalcanal, return ... nah, I seriously dont that would be enjoyable. I mean you would be trying to recreate something that Japanese pilots hated and literally got many of them killed.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 The next expansion, Il-2: Battle of Toilet Break, will include a Rabaul-Henderson and an ALSIB map from Alaska to Krasnoyarsk - a short 5.500km trip. radek, I'm confident they'll throw in a map for those aircraft to be used. A MTO 1942 expansion is unlikely since the German side is full, but a map to put the German, Italian and P-40 plus any other American/British/Italian aircraft to use would be very well-received.
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 On the other hand that Rabaul to Henderson mission would be convenient for Americans. I mean you throw some meat into smoker, start the flight and during those 6 hours you can get yourself perfectly made beef ribs. 2
