Guest deleted@50488 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 it's going to be the next theatre ? Pacific ? Channel / Normandy ? Africa ?
CheeseGromit Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Nothings been hinted at or announced yet has it? Best I check this first since I've not been following this closely for a while. Anyway, I expect a continuation of the current theme and theatre.
[APAF]VR_Spartan85 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I believe I can fly! but seriously, if we move anywhere out of the eastern front, I'm hoping Africa/ Mediterranean, battle of Malta, to Italy. If it is going west bound I hope its early war, France. I like flying the underdog.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Eastern Front 1943, confidently. It'd be interesting if they surprised us with something like Spain though.
ShamrockOneFive Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Well we have a 27 pager going here on just that subject http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/19243-would-you-rather-have-new-battle-x-follows-bom-and-bosplane/page-27 My money is on Kursk but North Africa might also be a thing.
seafireliv Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Seems to be that these guys are focusing mostly on the Eastern Front and so there`s a fair bit yet to be shown.

Probably continuing until wars end. If it's Kursk, I hope they'll focus more on the tanks, get some variations going or modifications available, also improve the darn grass vis distance and tree textures. It would be nice to fly over an active battlefield full of tanks! as for A/C, we could get some IAR series in the mix. 1
senseispcc Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Never bet, you always loose, logicaly K is the letter so it shall be "BOK" the next one ! Hehe...

simplyjames Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 As much as I want it to be the Pacific, i'd bet on kursk or another battle post Stalingrad. 1
Jade_Monkey Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 I was hoping for north africa and/or mediterranean. But not mostly desert. A good mix of water and land would be good. Otherwise its like playing the winter BOS map all over.
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Pacific/Normandy/Channel/Africa. They are all wonderful scenarios and i'm sure that down the track there will be some if not all provided !! but at the moment I think the Devs should be expanding BoS and BoM and allowing access to third party involvement. " Things are only going to get better " Cheers 1
Feathered_IV Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 "Dear Pilots, Today we are pleased to announce our next chapter to the series titled "More of the Same" In this the latest addition, there will be a map of somewhere (it really doesn't matter) and the addition of eight new aircraft, the identity of which we will reveal in the coming weeks. Rest assured however, their shapes may vary slightly but they will do exactly the same sort of things as the ones you have now - just a little bit faster or a little bit slower. In addition there will a further two cool new aircraft available for our Premium customers. One of which will be lacking in relevance, and the other lacking in performance. Can you guess which ones they are? Other features that you have come to know will remain unchanged. That guy in the main menu will continue to weld the #@*$! out of that piece of plywood or aluminium, and the AI will continue to say the same two things over and over again. FM Changes Our team is working hard on refining the performance of new and existing aircraft, and Luftwaffe fans can look forward to an exciting rollercoaster of changes as we strive to create FM's that are more in tune with your egos. Singleplayer We acknowledge that the singleplayers are the majority and the mainstay of any flight simulation. That is why we have improved our campaign system by totally changing the colours of some of the arrows on the map screen. Missions will now be more exiting too, as the Action Point will now be labelled Action Point! to increase immersion. Dynamic Weather We remain strongly committed to working with third party content. Players can now experience dynamic weather by pausing the game and looking out the window. Multiplayer! Multiplayer gameplay will also remain unchanged, with a whole new series of loadouts for the server admins to lock. We hope you will enjoy More of the Same. Preorders will soon commence and prices will be $79.99 in the US, $115 in Australia, and 10 roubles in the Motherland." 25

216th_Peterla Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 I think the same. Battle of something that is in 43 or Africa and Pacific. I only hope that we don't move towards an end era planeset that will leave the current one obsolete. Also funny reading Feathered

Jokes aside, I'm sincerely hoping 1C takes this sim to the western front of WW2 (France, channel, etc). Dreams ARE free..I know that.

We're moving our theatre into Space!
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 We need to keep the edge. WW2 simulation is a thing of the past, we need something fresh, never done before, to beat the competition. After shortlisting for months, we're down to WW1 and modern fast jets!

No601_Swallow Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 (edited) We need to keep the edge. WW2 simulation is a thing of the past, we need something fresh, never done before, to beat the competition. After shortlisting for months, we're down to WW1 and modern fast jets! OK: wishlist for a new game in the genre 1) SP "game" - an FPS tells a story. The main SP component of a flight sim should tell a story too. My first "flying game" was Crimson Skies . Yes, I know, but it told a cracking (if preposterous) story, so my ideal SP campaign would be scripted to within an inch of its life - including radio calls, pre-programmed engine failures, etc, scripted promotions, varied tasks (yes, things like landing on a length of road to pick up Olga the Spy from behind enemy lines, bombing Manstein's railway carriage, etc.. . My favourite ever campaign was "Castaways" (I think) for '46. It told a story (and made me fall in love with the Beaufighter), and it'd be lovely for an included SP campaign to be "gamey" and "fun" and tell a "Boys' Own" story of derring-do. 2) MP flexibility: lots of modes, DF, coop-style starts, tournament, deathmatch, capture the flag 3) Quick-save of mission states, so an SP mission could be saved, abandoned, then restarted from exactly the same point in a mission - great to repeat that bombing run that went wrong or that landing where you stalled on the threshold. 4) Mission Editor - basically great as is, but see the mission-building forum for additional wishlists 5) QMB - great as is 6) "Campaign"= "UQMB" - fantastic as is (but it ain't a campaign - see above) 7) Built-in bit-torrent-type module for automatically sharing (uploading and downloading) custom skins among members of the same squadron/team/group 8) Built-in "lobby" for chatting/waiting for coops/organising MP 9) Ability to string together missions as campaigns (i.e. persistent stats carried from one mission to the next) 10) FSX-style ability for 3rd parties to publish scenery/ground detail/aircraft (?) So, easy! Edited May 28, 2016 by No601_Swallow 1

MasterBaiter Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Normandy or Italy or Battle of France. For people asking for more tanks and vehicules: go sh**thunder, it's supposed to be a fly sim and we don't need the devs to scatter.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 You know, in this tactical simulator thingy we do fly strictly in support of ground forces. Bomb the enemy's infantry, artillery and cavalry, defend yours. The tanks while needing some slight refinements are a pretty decent addition that reminds us why the aircraft are flying - to support the army. And on top of it all, they are done during the developers' spare time so no need for hysteria and OT. 1

Caudron431 Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 (edited) Cannot wait for Kuban. Edited May 28, 2016 by Yak9Micha 1
Jade_Monkey Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 I would have a hard time paying $80 for another eastern front scenario with a similar (small variations) in the planeset. I wasnt thrilled with the BOM IL2, PE2 and F2. The rest are pretty nice. It's not so much about the money as its the principle of buying something that we already have. 3
BlitzPig_EL Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 At least if it's the Kuban there will be some relief to the terrain and an actual coast line. Of course the closest we will be able to fly to the coast will be 10 kilometers at which point the prompt: "Turn back you are leaving the combat area" will appear. But we will be able to look at the coast, at least as far as the vision bubble will allow, through the blue haze.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 (edited) Moscow was somewhat a choice of reason because the team sayed earlier they had to develop a new scenario as quickly as possible after BoS to keep their buisness up. There's no doubt they had some ressources they could reuse like the Emil, Bf-110 and of course the BoS aircraft. Considering their buiness running better now with 2 products being sold seperately they probably have enought ressources to make the move to a completely new theatre, which I'm looking forward to most. There's more than enought reason to finish the eastern front with more scenarios but if this is all it's going to be I might have to pass. Honestly though I'm looking more forward to a engine rework rather than a new scenario although it's not clear yet if this is ever going to happen. The Moscow map is quite nice but with a better engine it could be filled with more details and units bringing it alive. Edited May 28, 2016 by 6./ZG26_5tuka 3
PA-Sniv Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 My bet: eastern front, mid-late war, sea map & some lend-lease planes. After this third ETO map, a move to MTO will be possible... Cheers, 1
