Are there any sources for weather conditions on the Eastern Front

I bet the Russians have all of this info archived but it's not the sort of thing that people are too interested in.

 

I am looking for some information about the weather during October and November 1941 during operation Typhoon. Yes I have books and websites but they are very general and barely touch on the weather conditions.

 

Mainly I am interested in when the conditions shifted from rain/snow/mud to totally froze....I guess it was some time in November.

Here is a graph of average monthly temperature, actual - winter 1941/42 (continuous line) versus normal (dashed line)

 

A temperature from the weather station at Khodynka airfield in Moscow, with dates. Minimum in blue, maximum in pink, daily average in yellow. As you can see it was in the last days of November that the weather really went cold and stayed that way.

 

From that same thread, here is a daily weather report by the Kalinin Front headquarters:

 

21.10 Cloudy. Strong rainfall from the morning of 20.10.
23.10 Cloudy. Slight rainfall. Roads are hardly passable.

29.12 Fine, windless. Temperature -23-28ºC.
30.12 Mostly cloudy, windless. Temperature -21-16ºC, on the left wing slight fog with -30-28ºC. On the right wing and in the center – slight snowfall. Depth of snow cover is 48-50 cm.
31.12 Cloudy, windless. Temperature is 19-20ºC. Depth of snow cover – 46-50 cm.

most weather is documented from 18-19 th century onward as this was when scietific thinking really started to get a grip

Also it makes me shudder with memories of Winter 2013 which looked remarkably similar in temperatures.
