Anyone shoot that Pe-2 down yet?

2nd phase of Moscow campaign - scenarios mission where you fly the 109E on a fighter sweep - anyone shot that Pe-2 down yet?

 

I've flown the mission 3x but I choose to stay at altitude rather than follow it down to the deck. The result is that I damage it pretty good but it immediately dives to the deck and makes it back to the airfield at treetop level.

 

There is a whole lot of mission left after that, so I try to fly it like real life, knowing that I'm over enemy territory I want to stay high and fast, so I don't chase it.

I would advise you don't hunt for Pe-2 and help Bf 110's in the fight against MiG-3. I've specially made Pe-2 too difficult target

Haha it is sooooo tempting though. Great mission with a few surprises in it!

Don't hunt for Pe-2's in a 110 either. I did a 110 intercept and couldn't catch them after spawning at 6000m.
