Flight commands not followed -why?

I have commands set up in keystrokes & every indication that they are working in game,BUT no one in the flight seems to be listening. It doesn't seem to matter what i ask them to do-destroy closest aircraft, destroy nearest ground target, change formation ,they don't seem to care .My guys don't go after aircraft on my tail or close by,Stukas come back with bombs & don't hit the target I may not have fully destroyed, and they certainly don't go into a V formation. I am using th PWCG mst of the time & wonder if this has anything to do with it? I think the same problem is true in the BoM beta where targets that aren't totally destroyed means the mission doesn't count.REALLY frustrating!

Yes. For someone like me who enjoys working with AI in SP, it is strange how many commands sometimes work and don`t. I have also noticed that they don`t warn you if someone is on your 6 either (pretty important in my book).

That said I have had them sometimes bomb ground targets (I think you need to be really close to the target), and they do return to base- sometimes. Just keep repeating the Orders.

The "Intelligence" part of the term AI is obviously wrong.

It should read AN... Artificial Numpty.

They are truly brain dead.

I think the advance AI comes from the fact that they use the advanced flight models. I guess it's a new thing for AI to have to fly correctly like human players have too. This seems to be why they crash a lot too. But I agree, there doesn't seem to be too much "intelligence" in the artificial intelligence. And there needs to be work done with their adherence to commands, but using the "copy my actions" command is supposed to force the AI to listen to you, but that is up for debate.

Being this far now into BoS/BoM we as pilots should be able to relay to our flight, instructions to carry out any command [ instruct your flight to attack the bombers and your wingman to stay with you to take on the fighters ] to observe your orders being carried out, would increase the immersion effect  that this flight sim is already very good at.Also being able to contact ground control for take off and landing instructions !

Cheers :salute:

F6 - follow me - doesn't seem to be working for me anymore. I told my I-16 wingman continously to stay with me but He would just break off to engage in a fight with 6 109s and 4 110 alone with altitude disadvantage oven an enemy field with AAA. He sure was very brave.

I use VoiceAttack. I think the commands work.

Nevertheless the most aggravating thing is: I sometimes don't know what they do.

If they break off, I can call them back. Works 100% (as far as I can see), but I often don't realize they broke of.

Take for example a Mission from the official mission generator i.e. campaign. I have to destroy one a/c or damage 2 a/c. So I play on Expert and I have to spot the target by myself. My wingmen though have better eyes than me, break off and kill my targets. I don't get points then for the great unlocks and I don't realize they broke off until it is too late.

I usually spam the "follow me" command, when I reach the target area, but this command has to be repeated or they fly off. If they would ask for permission it would be fine.

Voice attack? I`ve been looking for a good ole voice command utility since the old one years ago. I`ll check this.

Hi Jim, from my experience, it shouldn`t matter who kills the targets. If they are killed you should get the message mission complete and get your 240 points for a long expert mission. I had that quite some times. The only points that of course should be missing are the points for kills.

A other thing also, why are we never the wing-man? But always the leader?! Should it not de pleasing to follow the leader in the beginning of the campaigns until we are good enough to be leader ourself?!
