New to Editor - Need some help

Hello all,

 

I'm having issues with the BOS Editor-- When I make decals I can no longer select items. I've tried clicking every button in the editor and it seems that the only thing that fixes it is restarting the program. Anyone encounter any such issues? Also, the Editor itself seems buggy, I can't resize any of the windows (eg. Mission Properties Window) and the windows do not have borders. I checked and I have STEditor Version 1.0. Is there anywhere I can download a patch for it, is there a new version available?

I have version 1.0.01. Is that the same version?

 

I can no longer even move or re-size the property dialogue any more, so unless there is something else in the forums I am not really much help sorry.

Yes, properties dialog is squished and cant be resized. Are you trying to edit groups? If so right click on group icon and make group active for editing or just ungroup.

Well now the editor just won't open. Gives me the following error code:

 

"m_pd3dDevice-> Reset(&m_d3dpp)

E_INVALIDARG"

 

Edit: Nevermind, fixed it. Thanks all for your help. I'm new to the mission editor and I'm hoping to count on you guys for help!

The reset ME cmd in the same folder as the ME comes in handy. It was pointed out to me today.

Yes it is handy, I try to close editor when I open new mission. The editor crashes after opening several times in series. This hopefully will be improved in the future though. That's when reset is needed.

At the top post the problem was with decals. What is that meant to be and hat can it be used for
