LLv24_Zami Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 (edited) Yes, it is all in how it is interpreted. For me, I can't be doing both at the same time, therefore if I am in CloD, I can't be in BoS. And I tend to focus on one sim at a time over weeks, months, years... So, if I would jump back to CloD, I would not be in BoS for weeks months etc. Of course many can and will jump between different sims daily. I still think ' Sorry we're not going to do BoB but are really excited at what will be done in the future; we'll get you news on this as soon as we can!' smiley face blah blah.. Would just be a little customer friendly, but yeah, I'm over-analysing. Yeah, probably would be better using something like that when answering. Maybe it is a culture thing, it doesn`t bother me very much. We are pretty straight forward people, talk less but always mean what we say. But not everyone is like us. I could play CloD if I wanted. And have tried it every now and then. But it feels so dull after BoS, I mean FM`s and stuff. So I don`t wan`t to play it, I`ll use that time in eastern front instead But it`s good we have options! Edit: And I think sim people are very easily offended, another reason to be as polite as possible Edited May 26, 2016 by Zami 1

Edit: And I think sim people are very easily offended, another reason to be as polite as possible I like the CloD flight models. I find the BOS German planes are like a struggling tight rope walker balancing act on the brink of falling from the sky with the plane wobbling all over the place. Options are good.

Yep, that`s exactly what I was talking about. People have different opinions, always have been and always will. With these options we can choose to play what we see fit.
=FEW=Hauggy Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 What I'm after is a Channel/France map created in IL2 plus plane set so that we can actually generate missions from the period 1942-1944. It was during this period that the air war really ramped up esp with the entry of the USAAF on daylight bombing raids. Surely you wouldn't want to fly these types of missions? I've listed (either in this thread or another) the types of missions they flew (they flew a heck of a lot more which I haven't mentioned eg. anti submarine, etc). Essentially, without a 1C MP dynamic campaign mode or anything, they're just providing us with a sandbox (map) and tools (a/c, objects, etc) - we'll do the rest. B-17's would be nice but it's very unlikely to happen. All my hopes are with Team fusion to bring new planes on such a map as for IL-2 we'll see what the Devs have in their sleeve, personally for the new Il-2 I just want more eastern front like Kursk Kuban or Battle of Berlin scenarios. If you ask me the plane(s) i'm really looking forward to see on such a map are the French planes for a Battle of France scenario.
74_jim_nihilist Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Cliffs of Dover with the Team Fusion Patch is a wonderful SP-Experience if you buy one or more Desastersoft Addons btw Imagine a BoB game with this "Unlock Campaign" system of BoS: Intercept a Ju-87 Stuka formation and shoot down 3 to unlock 100 octanes for your Hurricane, Intercept a He-111 formation and shoot down 5 to unlock .303 "de Wilde" ammo. Shoot down 2 Bf 109 to unlock a cleaned and polished windwscreen for Spitfire... Rinse and repeat these missions, varying the time and place. Actually I don't want to play any game with these Unlock mechanics. 2
74_jim_nihilist Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 (edited) Yeah, you have probably 2 downloads for free or something like that. I play CLOD more than BOM/BOS and I am a SP guy only. Edited May 26, 2016 by 74_jim_nihilist

Try the E7 this plane fly`s great with no wobbling or a bouncy nose and it Turns nice too . Out of the 109s this is the best too fly IMHO.
Sokol1 Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 (edited) Oddly enough CloD is very good and at 10$ Yes, is from MP perspective. But for SP still lacking contend, most of the issues that affect SP - AI behavior, orders, radio, ATC... - was not touched by TF guys. If have not a good base, mission makers don't have interest to work with this, no new contend is created to apeal for SP and circle repeat again. B of B, although mystic is too restrict in air operations to became interesting for different preferences. The really good thing this scenery offer for MP is that force have bases in or near their historic places for each side, without the common MP "what if " front with enemy bases ' ~10 KM ahead, although some "what if" is used in (CloD) MP like playing this foolish "Sea Lion". =362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 As a matter of fact I bought my CloD Collectors Edition 2 years ago for 4.5 Euro. Totally new, still in original foil and will all the stuff collectors edition was supposed to contain. I really miss those old games with nice boxes and great stuff inside. A map of Southern England and Northern France was damn cool. I also remember whole booklet I got when I've purchased Combat Flight Simulator 2, with tutorials, basic flight procedures, some historic introduction, interviews with pilots ... Well made collectors edition was a fine touch to the good time, like a cherry at the top of cake.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 I'd like to get a collector edition of Il2 gen 3 in about five years with all of the probable updates, improvement and content. I'd pay a pretty penny for a box set even if it's just to put on a shelf with my books and old games.
DD_Arthur Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I also remember whole booklet I got when I've purchased Combat Flight Simulator 2, with tutorials, basic flight procedures, some historic introduction, interviews with pilots ... I've still got that booklet and its still a great read.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 In theory and theory only someone could get a pack together and sell it. Lad A buys a game key, gets a box, prints a map, Chuck's guide and Luke's manual. You can also add a printed manual for an aircraft of choice - I know nearly all BoS ones have an English manual available. For extra points you can throw a Soviet pilotka in
CF-105 Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 No, give me a Hawker Tempest and I'll pay you handsomely in return I'd happily pay today for a Beaufighter next tuesday! 1
bzc3lk Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Well, I re-installed CloD, downloaded and installed the TF patches etc. But alas, as with the last time I tried it, it just still doesn't do it for me. Flippin' AI spewing all their ammo out in long snaking bursts...amongst other things. So, I stand by my view that whilst the devs of course can have whatever reason they want for not doing a BoBritain and I genuinely look forward to any scenario that comes to BoS/M, to think that CloD is on a par with BoS/M to fly as a 1940/channel/spits/hurries scenario and 'scratch that itch' is not really a valid one for me. And, hey, it's all their fault for making BoS/M better! Darn, I wish I could get on with CLoD. Pretty much in the same boat.
Mysticpuma Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Personally speaking I think a Pacific/New Guinea Theatre would be ideal. Large area of open water (so not too intensive in ground objects and yet Island areas, smaller land areas would be considerably detailed. I'd enjoy flying a P-47, P-38, Wildcat, Hellcat or similar in this theatre. Eastern Front doesn't interest me too much at all but it's a nice looking game engine so new theatres would be a joy to fly in
Lusekofte Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Well this is the disadvantage of this game, it is many who do not fly it because they have no interest in eastern front. Me I love the history and atmosphere flying in the eastern front. I like the russian planes. I prefer the SU 25 , not the A 10 in DCS too. I like simple and working design. But anyway we loose a great deal of players not having a alternative theatre
