What exactly do I need to target to destroy enemy airfield...

I know this was answered somewhere but I can't find it. I am doing low level bombing with 2 x FAB100. I smoked the control tower but was given credit only for soft targets. Do I need plant the bombs on the runway itself? Anywhere or in the middle?

There is normally a group of trucks parked among several aircraft in a parking area of the airfield. All you need is to destroy these.

Are you talking about campaign missions?

 

Usually its the group of planes bombers that are parked together.

Read the brief carefully before takeoff. Always. Usually it will say destroy parked bombers and I`ve found that doing so completes the objective.

Follow seafireliv's advice, the briefing always tells you what they want you to destroy.

 

Additionally, if you are level bombing, here's a tip: if your bombs miss, take your flight down low and strafe the enemy aircraft. They are usually conveniently parked in a row so either use front-firing armament (if available) or your gunners to take them out. Fly fast and the AAA won't bother you.

I haven't had an airbase strike since the patch but apparently all of the objects around the base now count towards the objective. Sounds like something they changed to accommodate this particular issue - it isn't very clear unless you play on Normal mode what it is that you are targeting.

yes the trucks next to the aircraft on the ramp is what you need to destroy.
