seafireliv Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Although it does make me wonder why these things stay just as expensive (sometimes even more so) as before even though there are no printing and DVD costs to worry about.

I'm guessing those kinds of costs aren't factored in... But I'm sure others are.

It's called inflation and overhead. Edited May 21, 2016 by LukeFF
Templer Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 So definitely no BOM in on DVD? I bought BOS on DVD and I found a nice Stalingrad map and a useful keyboard map inside the box. I love such additions as these maps. 1
GrendelsDad Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Maybe they could place an order and print maps for those of us interested, at a cost of course. 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 If you want maps, ask NobbyNobbs and curiousGamblerr. Both have posted high-resolution full maps recently on request, all you need is get somebody to print it for you
SharpeXB Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Do you not understand how printing and pressing works? What Jason is explaining, I'm sure, is that the cost per copy is much higher for a few copies than for many. In the days when many customers purchased packaged products this overall cost was low. Today there are too few people who would buy a boxed version to make it cost effective. The last game I ever purchased on a DVD was Rise of Flight in 2010 :-D 1

Both have posted high-resolution full maps recently on request, all you need is get somebody to print it for you Oh yes, and uh, just now I've started offering map printouts for sale, just three easy payments of $19.99... More seriously, here's a dropbox link to a folder including the full, original resolution of all three maps. Keep in mind Stalingrad and Moscow are pretty big files so be patient downloading. Enjoy! 1
Potenz Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 today with the Broadband standars making a DVD boxed version is quite a waste of money and resources.
Livai Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 (edited) Do you not understand how printing and pressing works? Jason Jason, thanks for your comment. Jason, I just not understand the management. It was said BoM is a full game same as BoS. BoS had a nice DVD Boxed Version. BoM deserve not the same honor that BoS had. Short said the management maybe recognise that it was a mistake to produce a nice BoS DVD Boxed Version. There is no other explanation. Jason, you said many times that the team has very limited resources. A BoS DVD Boxed Version was a really risky task from my view. I just wondering what the team could do for us if that money was not spend to produce a BoS DVD Boxed Version. From my point of view I see BoS and BoM not as a full game it is just a Addon or a DLC for me. Why this game was not called " IL-2 Sturmovik Anniversary " followed with BoS and BoM as a Addon or DLC. Nobody did this before and this solve many problems for example for a Addon or a DLC a Boxed Version is not needed. Add downloadable content for each Addon or DLC for example put a printable Map same Quality how the BoS DVD Boxed Version had inside a .pdf file. If someone want it printed he just need to go with that .pdf file to a copy shop to be happy. Edited May 21, 2016 by Superghostboy
SharpeXB Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 There's this thing today called an iPad which has replaced printed material of all sorts. 1
