Does anyone know how to get Nvidia's DSR functionality working with IL-2 BOS?  I had it set up in the past, but with the patch I had to reinstall the game and now the functionality is lost.  For the life of me I cannot remember how I set it up it the first place.  I don't see any option in the Nvidia control panel under "manage 3D settings" for BOS related to DSR.  I do see DSR under "Global settings" but I don't want the setting to be global, I only want it for BOS.  The Nvidia website uses the GeForece Experience app to show how to set up DSR, but BOS is  not detected by that application on my computer (which does recognize other steam games).  I seem to recall that the app used to recognize the game, and that is how I got originally set up DSR, but my memory is hazy and the game is certainly not recognized now.

I want to get this working again because it completely solved the "shimmering texture" problem many have noted (at least on the BOS map).  Call me shallow, but the shimmering drives me crazy and, after having fixed it once, it is even more annoying now its back.

Does the BOM map suffer from the same problem?

Thank you Chief.  I'll try that when I get home tonight.

You can also use sparse grid supersampling to get rid of shimmering. Instructions here: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/18882-terrain-aliasing-issues-1104/?p=297951

Pleased to confirm that, with the settings detailed above, all landscape shimmering has gone.

Three cheers for this thread!

Thanks to 64 bits I could recover a bit of power and switched to UltraRes and Distance Landscape details x4

Unfortunately I could not get rid of landscape shimmering (especially at very low altitude) because DSR is too FPS consuming with my old GTX 680.

Any tips to recover some power in the Nvidia Control Panel in order to apply DSR ?

Madison; I'm running a 6600ti 3gb card with an older quad core running at 3.8ghz and 12 gigs of ram.  I tried DSR but.........

At present I'm running the game at 1280 x 1080 in windowed mode with V-Sync, HDR and SSAO off, frame rate limiter off, landscape and game AA at 4, sweetfx and Sparse grid super sampling x 2 through Nvidia inspector.  Getting good enough frames for multiplayer with no shimmering.

If I'm serious about multiplayer I switch off the sparse grid sampling, put up with the shimmering and get a constant 50 - 60fps.

Hope this helps. :salute:
