TP_Silk Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 If I were to activate a flight of AI aircraft on the parking area and then issue them an order to take off, would they taxi to the runway or is the AI not able to handle that? I am asking because I would like to craft a scenario where there is say a five minute period where players could spawn in on the runway and take off after which an AI flight would spawn on the taxiway, manoeuvre to the runway and take off on a mission. Thanks in advance for any replies
=LG/F=Kathon Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I think yes, you must set up taxi path on airfield. Click button "Edit Chart" in Airfield Properties.
LFDM-Carleo Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Yes its works If you select an airfied you can edit "charts" . Charts are the waypoints used by AI to follow taxi to the runway. They determinate the direction of landing and taking off. Be sure : that the Ia starting option selected is "on parking" in the option of the IA that the starting point is well placed on the parking the IA try to go directly to it (if a obstacle is on the way they don't try to avoid it) that the entering runway point is not too near of the exit of the taxiway (the entire IA group can't enter the runaway and don't take off) if you use spawning IA be sure that they have a certain distance between each other to avoid collision That the take off command is on the end of the runway (certain type off bomber need to use the full lenght of the runway to take off) I hope it can help you
TP_Silk Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Thank you both very much for your swift replies. I'll give it a try later on when I get home from work.
