TrackIR5 - can't lean in. And how to set a quick gunsight view

Using Requiem's 6DOF profile from ROF here and TrackIR works fine on all axes except for "lean forward/backward" (Z-axis). It works in the TrackIR SW, but I can't get the pilot to lean in towards the gunsight once I start using the "Zoom" function" in the cockpit.

On a related topic: Even with TrackIR, I like to be able to zoom in on the gunsight with a single touch of a button. I remember that I had my game set up like that in both CoD and RoF - but I can't seem to remember how I did it. I do remember moving my head to the desired location, then "saving" the position and using the "custom head position"-function to quickly snap back to it. I think I also mapped the "reset zoom"-function to another button and thus I was able to switch between normal "flying view" and "zoomed in gunsight view" with two buttons on my stick.

I tried this in BoS, but it doesn't seem to work. Plus I loose the ability to lean in with TrackIR once I start using the "pilot head zoom"-keys.

Can anyone help?

1) What do you mean by zoom function? Do you use buttons or axis for zooming? Does the leaning work while you do not use zoom? If not, check that you have your axis enabled in Trackir software.

2) If you want a fixed view with single button try this: Map one of the snapviews to desired button. In cockpit keep that button pressed and use mouse to move the view to your liking (Trackir doesn't work when you press the button). Keep the button pressed and use F10 to save the view. It should snap to that saved position every time you keep that button pressed and return to normal view when you release the button.

I use this method to take a quick look at instruments.

I do the same. I have a snap for gunsight view, and 2 for instrument checking

Like I said in another thread:

That method works.... buuuuut: I want to be able to toggle the view. The way I can get it to work now, I have to push and hold the button to stay in the gunsight view. Alas, I want to use a thumb-button on my stick to switch to the gunsight. But if I have to hold that button down, I can't use my thumb to also fire my cannon (which is on another thumb-button on the stick).

So what I was looking for is a way to toggle a certain view by simply pressing a button, then pressing the button again to switch back to "normal flight view".

Just talked to a buddy of mine from WW2 ONLINE who also plays BoS and he told me that there's no way in BoS itself to get that functionality. He said I should use joytokey to turn that button on my Sidewinder into a "toggle on/off" switch for BoS. Guess I'll try that next.. :)

Oh, and regarding zoom: Seems that the movement on the Z-axis is fairly limited - at least in the 109 (haven't tried any other planes yet, lol). I can now get the head to lean forward/backwards. The head simply doesn't have a whole lot of "travel" on the Z-axis. Made me think leaning wasn't working - especially when I was playing around with the zoom function, which is mapped to my stick's hat-switch. My CH Throttle doesn't have a slider, and if it did, I'd use it for trim.. :D

You read what I wrote there?

Two options with what is possible do in this game, not in the way that is in IL-2'46 or Aces High.

BTW - Make a request for dev's in the  sub-forum bellow to include a toggle joystick button option for the " "DECIMAL POINT" (del) + Keypad "8" view. Not named because actually is not re-mappable.
