JU88/H111 - how to drop all ordnance at once?

hi guys

I've gotten the hang of level bombing and can drop a bomb in a pickle barrel from 20,000ft (kidding). Anyway, one thing I've struggled with is trying to drop all my ordnance at once in the JU88/H111 when there is external ordnance as well as internal ordnance ie. i can drop my externals fine but there is a time delay in opening the doors plus selecting all bombs then dropping them....by this time my internal load is already way past the target.

is there a way to get this all to drop at the same time or to speed up the internal load?

I dont think there is a way.

There's not because the bombadier had to switch to internal bombs via the selector switch + toggle the drop mode for internal bombs individually.

 

Edit: If missing the target is all you're worried about you have certain options to overcome this issue, ie. by dropping at a lower attack speed or from higher altitude.

The good news (I think) is that after dropping a bomb/bombs the selector switches to ALL of the bombs. Try dropping a 500Kg bomb with bomb bays open and then press drop again and see if all the 250s go out (on the 111)....I think they will

So basically on the bomb run, I know I have a choice as to # of bombs to drop but its usually internal or external (then single/pairs/etc). Its just a real pain to drop externals, then open the doors then scroll through to find 'drop all internal'. I guess the only way is to drop early...but the problem with that is you're dropping your main 'cookies' first ie. the 500lb'ers rather than 16 100lb'ers, which do more damage. 

 

Damn, give me a B17 or B24 any day!!

The problem really is that the bombers concerned were generally used for hits on less concentrated targets - or at least, they didn't expect a single bomber to be able to drop the entire load over a single spot. Personally, I've been doing SP campaign bombing missions with external bombloads only, which avoids the issue, though you do have to be accurate.

You can drop all your bombs at once if you just select only either external bombs or internal bombs at mission start. 

 

Otherwise, if you have 4 250kg bombs on your underbelly, and 27 50kg bombs in your bombbay, you have to "drop all" on your bombbay, and then set "drop all" on your underbelly.
