Team chat problem

So i cant seem to chat just to my own team, i press control + enter   but both teams can read it  am i doing something wrong?   i really could do with a fix for this as i'm starting to piss people off .  thx.

Hahaha a lot of games have separate keys for team and general chat, so it's nothing to be embarrased about.

You are not the first and won't be the last person to tell the enemy some crucial infor over the chat.

I also think the system is not a good one. I'm not feeling very confident communicating over it and indeed in critical situations it has already happened to me that the enemy got info he should not have gotten..

I can't imagine flying without team speak, any more than I could flying without Track IR.

I do use teamspeak but many others don't and I've not got whispers to any channel that needs it. Also it's a good way to communicate with new players first just in the missions, they may not yet be as well equipped as we are . I've found old '46's chat function quite useful, also being able to just drag and scroll. Apart from that I agree with you.

The chat should be improved at some point. Sometimes even pressing the ctr+enter becomes readable for the general public(it's not enclosed in the blue box). Something like the Rof one withe the history chat will be welcome.

I'm glad I found the answer to my difficulties but the multiplayer chat system is VERY confusing.  You have to bring up the chat window and then hit control+enter AFTER you type the message and not BEFORE.  Currently, you can bind two different keys to  the commands, "send chat messages to all" and to "send chat messages to friendly," but each key binding brings up exactly the same chat window.  Currently, you must type control+enter to send a message to the team regardless of what keys you assign these two chat commands.  The two key binding are completely redundant with each other and there should not be two options at all when they do exactly the same thing.

Anyone got friendly chat successfully keyed (through the game interface) to a HOTAS? I've never gotten it to work. Regardless of which I key, it goes to global chat only.
