Aengelage Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Just wanted to post a few things on here. First of all the mouse controls are absolutely horrid. They are totally unusable. I understand they are in testing but still, something in testing and open to people who purchased the game should function enough to actually play the game. If this is not the case, which it is not, then this should not be available. But it seems like you guys worked backwards here. Instead of starting development with mouse and keyboard, you started with joystick and are trying to adapt back to mouse because you may have realized that many people do not have joysticks as they are fairly expensive, especially for a good one. It seems like more of a flaw in the planning of making the game, but as of now, using a mouse is impossible. Second, unless I could not find it (which would be a big problem in itself), there is no tutorial. This is step one of game design, making sure any user beginner or advanced can always play some sort of tutorial IN GAME. How do you expect people to continue to play if they cant even start to play. Even a game like DCS, one of the most advanced and complicated flight simulators, has tutorials for every aspect of their game. Going to controls and looking at keybindings is not a tutorial, and no one can go through keybindings once and completely understand every control. There needs to be something to inform players of how to play, especially in a simulation game! Finally, as with many of these problems, are more design flaws that make the menus and understanding where to go extremely confusing. I clicked campaign, went to the first mission available (hoping it was a tutorial, it was not) and it brought me to a map. The map had different locations to click on either side of the fight and none of it was explained. The backstory and setup was, but not the actual interface. The map left me with so many unanswered questions. Should I be a German or Russian? Which Russian airstrip should I pick? Why does the one location say to select a plane and others do not? What is the difference between the planes? Are these different missions? There is absolutely no indication on what I should do. Its as if you expect players to understand exactly how the game works the first time they open it up. I really want to like this game because I love realism/simulation games, but the UI and Menu system makes it seem impossible to understand. I really want to like this game but I just do not have the patience to learn not only the controls by myself but also the entire UI and Menu interfaces.
