Is P-40s distance in icon showed in miles instead of kilometers?

I tested aircraft spotting in the quick mission using icons and free camera view.

 

I had a flight of two La-5 and two P-40s close to each other. As I moved away with the camera, the La-5 disappered at 9,5kms and P-40s disappeared at 6kms (disappear = object is out of drawing distance). The distances are what icon shows the distance.

First I thought that there is something wrong with P-40s rendering as it disappeared earlier than it should. But I noticed that the distance was not growing at the same rate when I moved the camera away. It occured to me that maybe the P-40s distance in the icon is showed in miles. And 6 miles is about 9,5km.
