...srqbones Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Hope all is well. I just stumbled upon an interesting hour and a half WWII air war video that I didn't know existed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD7l2mQYlYQ&feature=em-subs_digest-vrecs"WWII in HD: The Air War" It's a stitching of all kinds of WWII actual video footage with narration and over-dubbing to tell the story of the US Army's Eighth Air Force and its battle to destroy the power of the Luftwaffe prior to the D-Day invasions. The eye-opening thing to me is that it's in color, and reasonably well-done (I presume that it was all actually shot in B&W and colored after the fact, but I'm not sure if that is for every foot of film). There is air-to-air, air-to-ground, and air-to-air footage. Hand-colored or not, it gives great insight of what things in WWII combat and what the ground scenes and plane, ship, and vehicle exteriors "should look like." If you guys haven't seen it, I'm surely that it would make an excellent visual reference and resource. Keep up the good fight!
