Request for Li-2

[CF-105]

I know there are many other things that would make more sense to be added to the game, but I just think that the aircraft would be a nice addition, AI or flyable.

What more, many of us are already willing to pay for a flyable Ju-52, and a Li-2 would balance it nicely, like the La-5 and Fw-190.  The Li-2 could also be used as the C-47 for other theaters.

 

Along with the Ju-52, it could be used in the development of new kinds of gameplay, like delivering cargo or capturing targets with paratroopers, but also was modified for reconnaissance or bombing.  The aircraft has an additional bonus of pleasing our American friends.

For BoM an AI PS-84/Li-2 would indeed make sense from a historical point of view. Together with the TB-3 it played an important role during the Vyazma airborne operation in early 1942. Moreover long range aviation units used it  as a bomber.

I know that he has collected a lot of information, so if the team really decides to work on a Li-2, it might be a good idea to contact him. This could save a lot of work.

Maybe the graphics team can get bored on their spare time again and instead of creating tanks, create an Li-2? Even if it's not flyable, it did fly over Stalingrad, it would be a cool immersion.

I suspect it's more a matter of time, than funding.  As we know, multi engine aircraft take substantially longer to model than single seaters do, and if as I suspect we go to the Kuban next, then there are multiple fighter aircraft types that will need to be modeled, not to mention figuring out the ground handling and CG nuance of a mid engine, tricycle gear P 39, which has not been done in the DN engine yet.

I've done, or tried to do, artillery spotting in HSFX for '46 using the mod Stinson L4.

 

All you get is shot down, a lot. In essence you are a sitting duck, and not just for fighters.
