Strange problem with hosting a multiplayer mission

Hello everyone!  :salute:

So, here's my problem : a few weeks ago, I had no problem in hosting a multiplayer mission and people could join in without problem.

Now, after there had some work on my internet access, I reconfigured Dserver and port forwarding, everything according to this site

my friends can see the server and try to join, they can begin to download the mission, but everytime they get thrown back to the server list without any error message (between 80 and 100% loading   ).

I double-checked port-forwarding and Dserver configuration, even tried lowering the uploadlimit in both the game and SDS, nothing will do, they can't get access to the mission.

Does anyone have a clue on what my problem can be? I couldn't manage to find something like my case in the forum and I must confess, I can't see what could be the source of the problem and any help will be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

I have a similar situation and will be interested in any solution. I have confirmed that my firewalls and port forwarding are not the issue, people can see the server, connect to it and start to download the mission, but everyone except me gets thrown out of the mission with no error message.

I suspect an error somewhere in the networking side of things, probably in my configuration, as the fact that I can connect to a mission hosted on my own server shows that the actual server end is okay. At the same time the fact that people can see, log into and start to download the mission says that the problem doesn't appear to be with something getting blocked (ie not firewall or port forwarding).

Hey Bugs,

Have you tried having the players download the mission, " msnbin, list, lang, files" into their Multiplayer folder then try to connect.

That way the loading of the mission has already been accomplished.

Check out this post for a discussion of the problem from the point of view of running stock BoS missions. There may be some clues that apply to your case.

Try the following:

- Check the path given in the .list file and make sure that the mission is saved under that path on the DServer PC.
Make sure the mission is saved under \data\Multiplayer\Dogfight or a sub-folder of that folder.

- Resave the mission and re-run.

Bugs,

I found an excellent and thorough guide to setting up Dserver at the end of Prangster's IL-2 BoS Mission Buiilding Guide at the forum link below. Not tested it at home yet to see if it solves the issue I have been experiencing, but it certainly explains what all the settings are and how to manipulate them

Just to say that following the above guide sorted my issues out and I'm now up and running.

I've had that problem a couple of times, but it was just affecting me and my own server. The problem always went away, and I never found out what the cause was.

One thing that will reliably cause that problem is too many vehicles active at the same time. That will prevent people from joining, and people who are on the server will experience problems when selecting airfields and starting flights.

   Hello everyone, great news I found the solution!

Once again the problem was between the chair and the keyboard!

The problem seems to be on the definition of Nat/PAt (didn't figure it out earlier), my internal port was 28100  which obviously created a conflict as the download port of the SDS was.....28100. I just changed internal port to 28000 and everything works fine now.

Huge thanks to everyone for the help. :salute:
