BP_Lizard Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I haven't been playing with the tanks for a while so I didn't notice. There were some simple scenarios that I've downloaded wherein I could practice gunnery but I couldn't seem to load them anymore. So, are the old missions not compatible with the latest game version or are the tanks not playable in single mission anymore? I have the latest version plus the addition of Battle of Moscow. Thanks in advance for the help.
No601_Swallow Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I don't know, but you may need to resave them. That is: You may need to open them in the Mission Editor (the .exe is in your ...BoS/bin/editor folder). Then just resave them. If they've appeared with a wierd blue glow painted over everything, you just need to adjust (to absolutely anything) the "cloud options" in the "Mission Properties"/"Atmosphere Options" window. At least, I think! 1
coconut Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 There was a change in the binary file format of missions (.msnbin files) a few versions back. This means you need to delete the msnbin file. The game will then load the textual mission file instead, if there is one. If there isn't any .mission file, you need to get it from the mission's author. Loading missions from .mission files is slower than from .msnbin files. To generate .msnbin files, open the .mission file in the mission editor and simply save it (Ctrl-S). That will recreate the msnbin file. If the mission editor gives an error trying the load the .mission file, this can be because you have forgotten to delete the old .msnbin file. 1
BP_Lizard Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 That's it! Thank you very much, Mr coconut.
