Mastermariner Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Is there a tutorial for setting up a server? Master

Mastermariner Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 Thank you, but after reading this I strongly urge for the creator of that mess to be taken outside and finnished of. What BS! Master
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I dont understand the problemThe server looks very easy to run and setup. There is like zero typing in some console or cmd line. There is minimal setup needed and most of that is just the first time (rest is just make missions and run it)
Thad Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Salutations, I guess I qualify as an idiot because for the past several days I have been unable to get my server to alloy anybody else to log on. The server is listed and I can login but not my tester friend. He keeps getting Error# 10019 - Unable to connect to server message. I've tried everything I can think of. Port forwarded until I can think of nothing else to do. Shut down firewalls... made exceptions on the firewall for IL2 and DServer. Nothing helped. I used a port forwarding network testing program and it keeps reporting that my 'port is not open or reachable'. 28000 and or 28100. Is there some other port number I should be using. What am I missing? I'm sure this is not meant to be so difficult. Lost and confused. I'm over server enemy territory. Help! I don't have a chute either. The link shows an image of my routers current forwarding information. https://www.dropbox.com/s/q6rp0onlslejhal/Forwarding.png?dl=0 Edited January 12, 2017 by wdboyds

Local External IP Address Start Port End Port IP Address Start Port End Port Prot 192...etc. 28000 28000 0.0.0.0 28000 28000 BOTH 192...etc. 28100 28100 0.0.0.0 28100 28100 TCP Note how the start and end ports are the same for each entry. Under "Prot" (protocol), "BOTH" refers to TCP and UDP. Also, double check your local IP (the IP of the PC running the DServer) by doing the following: on the DServer PC: 1. Type "Cmd" in the Windows search box and press Enter. A command window opens. 2. In the command window, type "ipconfig" and press Enter. The "IPv4 Address" line gives the DServer IP address. Thad Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Try to define External IP Address (your router's public IP). You may check it by visiting whatismyipaddress.com Should I be using that IP as my Local IP address and not my computer IP address? I think that you may need two entries (shown below) in your port forward settings, but I'm not sure if your current entry may work too. I have set up a 'static' IP address for my computer. I have that address listed as my Local IP address. Is that incorrect?
Thad Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I have become so confused and frustrated. I've tried almost every conceivable combination of port forwarding numbers in my router IPv4 setup. I still get 'Port NOT OPEN or not reachable.
JimTM Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Can you get on the BoS TeamSpeak at 2 pm EST? I can try helping you then.
Thad Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Thanks for your attempt to help. I couldn't get teamspeak to work correctly. Sorry.
JimTM Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 OK. Let me know if you get TS working and we can schedule another time.
[SRH]Festa_VR_Noob Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I too had similar issues after swearing on my left testicle that i had followed all instruction to a 'T'. Turned out Comodo Firewall has a base global rule for all traffic that blocked any IP in from and to anywhere, that no rule above countered (strangely). After me and my pal were about to give up, I was messing about with the rule sets and switched this from 'block' to 'allow' and instantly it worked and ports were open etc. I switched it back to 'Block' and now have a rule above it that allows any source IP to connect to the IP i have set for the server. All good now. Not suggesting Comodo is your problem, but might be worth looking at your firewall settings on your PC or even your router (in UK, Virgin Media supply a router with built in firewall that is better switched off).
Thad Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Thanks Fest... I'll look into it. I know we can always join one of the other fine servers, but I desire to eventually create my own multiplayer scenarios for us to play.
LLv34_Vellu Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Hello First time when I tried to craete a multiplayer server I did mistake that a *.sds file was a different folder than where IL-2.exe file was. After I moved *.sds file to same folder (game) where IL2.exe situated everything started to work perfectly.
Thad Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Really? Did you move all of the multiplayer mission files or just the *.sds file?
Thad Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Does the location of the game files matter when running DServer? My friend still can't join my server. Error code 10019 I have the game loaded on my F: drive.
Thad Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Salutations, Upon failure to connect to a server... what does the #10019 error message actually indicate and how can it be overcome? Thanks.
coconut Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 IIRC this is a connectivity issue. If your server is behind a firewall, you have to set port forwarding of both UDP and TCP on the ports you have configured in the SDS file.
