Total computer crashes 1.201

I’ve been experiencing total computer crashes since shortly after the last update 1.201. I flew a couple of missions (Quick missions and campaign) after the update and the game worked fine.

 

The next day I tried to fly and after clicking the game launcher, the screen flickered and then crashed the computer to a black screen. The computer was still running but I couldn’t get back to desktop. Ctl-Alt-Del didn’t work nor did Esc. I had to turn the computer off manually then re-start the computer.

 

I had previously installed the latest AMD Crimson 16.4.1 Hotfix driver and thought that might be a problem, so I uninstalled that driver and reinstalled the previous driver that worked, the Crimson 16.1 driver. I still got the computer crashes, so uninstalled that one and reinstalled the Crimson 15.12 driver that worked, which also crashed. Now I’m back to the Crimson 16.1 driver.

 

Then I updated the Track IR-5 drivers but still got the crash and I’ve also shut off my Norton antivirus and still get the crashes.

 

I tried to start the game by right clicking on the game launcher and running as administrator and I still get the flickering screen and then the computer crash. If I click Ctl-Alt-Del as soon as I see the flickering screen, task manager will launch and I can turn the game off before the complete computer crash.

 

What should I try next?
