seafireliv Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 When it gets dark it`s stark how little in the way of flashes we see at night or dusk. In fact I see none. We should be getting flashes simulating warfare in certain hotspots at night. Some close some far away. I`ve read accounts where pilots could quite easily see muzzle flashes from artillery and the resulting flashes from explosions. Also, is it me or is there no flash from a bomb exploding, whether day or night? Suggestions: 1. Where there is smoke and obvious military contacts at night, please have randomised explosion flashes whether distant or close. Stalingrad city should have quite a few randomly placed, depending on dates, not just a few smoke stacks. 2. Random or placed flashes at night. I would say have the odd random flash from nowhere appear just to give the impression of an explosion somewhere, much like games and movies will add random battle noises or flashes. These random falshes should be spotty or rare, but be there to give an impression of a war happening among the fields of Russia. 3. There should be a flash from bombs exploding. I would say half a second`s worth or less. It should be just noticable in the day when looking from high and definitely noticable at night. Smoke: 1. Right. Smoke. I was disappointed by the smoke in BOS and in general. I had really hoped that the technology would have been improved so that huge plumes of smoke wouldn`t be a problem. So imagine my thoughts when flying over Stalingrad and seeing a few plumes, heck, not even like in the sim`s hype advert video. I have seen some games manage huge plumes of smoke (CFS3) and know it was tough in the past, but with better pcs and programming know-how today, I wonder why it`s so hard to do now? Please try and add more smoke to places like Stalingrad, which should look much worse than it does. Plus with the flashes to simulate explosions. 2. Smoke from destroyed munitions and buildings should also leave greater amounts of smoke as well. If you can`t or won`t add more smoke, then at least increase the flashes, as mentioned, especially at night for a greater feeling that the pilot is flying above one of the most intense spots of warfare in history.
Venturi Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 It is an immediate flash followed by smoke. https://youtu.be/l1OqbwtIPy4?t=20
