raptorTempast2003 Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Hi, I just got this game last week and have only been able to successfully run out of gas in a straight flight on quickplay so far... I have looked through numerous post for a understandable guide to map the Keys needed for my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. <----- I know this HOTAS is not ideal, in fact the one I'd like to get is the Saitek x56 Rhino, or the Thrustmaster Warthog, unfortunately I don't see that happening anytime soon as the prices are just no where near the 50 dollar range lol. I got no help from Logitechs site for setting up the stick, and no links to any helpful profiles for it. I know how to access the Keymaping I also have no problem with making my trackIR5 work on the game. My stick does work as I briefly made it turn towards my death 1 time in the last few days. So my problem is what needs to be mapped to which position on the HOTAS to be able to fly. I'd like to pull back on the stick to gain altitude/ push forward on it to Dive and be able to run at the very least. I'm unfamiliar with all the referenced keymaping terms, I would like to learn them but I pick this stuff up gradually as I go. I'm more of a visual hands on learner the terminology will come to me with time and experience. Plus Logitech's profiler only names the X and Y axis, Throttle, Twist, POV 1, and Trigger in those terms followed by Buttons 1 - 12. I will play with the sensitivity settings as soon as the keys are mapped. Thanks for any help anyone can offer it is greatly appreciated.

raptorTempast2003 Posted April 23, 2016 Author Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) Thanks DD_Arthur, By some fluke it seems as though my xbox controller may have been considering itself to be my Hotas and Joystick go figure just like Microsoft....Maybe thats why none of the settings I tried to assign earlier have been effective. seafireliv Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Thanks DD_Arthur, By some fluke it seems as though my xbox controller may have been considering itself to be my Hotas and Joystick go figure just like Microsoft....Maybe thats why none of the settings I tried to assign earlier have been effective. About 2 months ago, a friend of mine insisted I get an Xbox controller so i can sometimes play 2 player games on his console. I really didn`t want to, but since it would help down at my m8`s and it works on the pc for any potential beat-em-ups I might get- if ever, I thought, ok. But beware, for it does like to take priority in controls. I always take out the Xbox controller whenever I am configuring or installing a game and more times than not it sits to the side of the pc.
Sokol1 Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) raptorTempest The controls in key mapper are relatively easy to set - although the translation for English could be better... : For aileron, elevator, rudder and throttle look at PLANE CONTROLS for: Plane control: pitch < this is elevator control, assign joystick Y axis. Plane control: roll < this is aileron control, assign joystick X axis. Plane control: yaw < this is rudder control, assign joystick twist (the axis name can vary, don't matter) axis. For engine throttle look at ENGINE CONTROL tab: Engines throttle control < assign joystick throttle. For assign joy trigger buttons for weapons look in WEAPONS tab, etc. The fact that XBox controller assume joystick priority for Windows dont matter, when you assign joy axes in game controls, if this are the secondary control for Windows in game GUI appear: Joy1 instead Joy0, but will work in same way. Just avoid unplug/plug the controls because this can alter this order, specially in Windows 8/10. Edited April 23, 2016 by Sokol1

And though I have Windows 7, I do recall a friend of mine pulled out the joystick usb last week and we re-plugged it into a different receptor, what followed was some windows driver installs and failures along with other windows chaos.
