Uriah Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I had not played BoS for nearly a month and had unplugged the joystick. But to night I started up and had forgot the to plug it in. But still no response. Did a restart but still no joy. I ended up starting up RoF to test if somehow the joystick just was not working. Glad to say it worked fine. So started up BoS but no luck. And I did check and verified that I was on joystick and not mouse mode. I do have a CH Throttle quadrant too. And it seemed to do the throttle just fine. I am stumped. Any suggestions?
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Yes rebind your inputs don't transfer your saved ones by the way did you unplug the throttle quad and check to see if it's a to many inputs plugged in? For now I think it's not supporting more than 5 devices? Edited April 21, 2016 by 71st_Mastiff

Have you selected Joystick input over Mouse control?
Uriah Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 Elem, I did verify that. Sad to say I think Mastiff is on the right track. Even though everything showed as set up in BOS I did not get pitch control until I remapped it again. Once I did and did so just as it was before - this time it worked.

Uriah Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 I did have to remap keys and axis for the joystick and CH Throttle quadrant. It seems everywhere Joy0 became Joy1 and 1 became 2. But the rudders kept their value of Joy2. Keyboard did not need to be remapped. Now if I save the input files as a back up and if this happens again could I use the backup files?
Sokol1 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) Yes, save the files in game folder /Data/Input. This renumbering joystick is common in this game, specially in win 8/10 - unplug/plug increqase the possibility to happen. Edited April 22, 2016 by Sokol1
Uriah Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) Thank you very much Sokol1. Edited April 22, 2016 by Uriah

I use a switchable-powered USB hub with an X55 and Crosswinds. There are applications (Google Earth) that don't appreciate gaming controls. I was slowly losing my mind with BOS because I was getting some really inconsistent results while trying to customize the key-maps to the HOTAS. And then there's Windows 10... Thanks for this information. Armed with this I'll take another look at my rig architecture. <S> Edited April 28, 2016 by AKRaider
