[VF-84]Karetaker Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Hello Crew. I have had BoS for about three weeks and have been fooling around with Dserver and ME for about one week; so please bare with me. I am able to host a room and join it. I am using a stock map. While I am selecting my air field and then my plane, fuel load, etc., the map stops. I get a notice that a new map will load is 40 seconds. (or whatever wait time it is.) After the "new" map loads, (It is the same map...I only selected one to use with unlimited time.) I start the process of choosing a field, plane, fuel...and the map "times out" again. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Be advised that I may have more questions as I get deeper into this. Thank you.
coconut Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 There is a setting in the sds file for the round time. It's in seconds
[VF-84]Karetaker Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Thanks, but no joy. I had -1 for round time, (unlimited) and also tried various times in seconds with no luck. The map continues to time out. If anyone has ideas, please share. In the mean time, I will continue to troubleshoot the issue and see what, if anything, I can figure out.
[VF-84]Karetaker Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Hello again. I believe I have figured out my issue. I had tried to set the "Team Points Per Round" number to "0" under custom settings. (Within the DSERVER setup) Leaving the standard "500" number in there allows my server to stay up and running. I assume with a "0" in there the sim. keeps re-booting because the score of "0" keeps being completed and the round ends. Now that I can open and host a room, I am moving on to custom map making.
JimTM Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Prangster's Mission Building Guide, pg. 73 has this: Team points per mission – When one side gets to this number of points the mission will automatically end. Setting this to 0 is supposed to disable it but I’ve found it to be more reliable if you just set it very high. I wonder what would happen if you set it to -1?

At the risk of resurrecting a Zombie thread: First of all, you cannot set "-1" for team points in the SFS manager. However, you can manually set that value in the .SFS file using a text editor. If you do so, the SFS Manager will show that value, and ingame while the mission is running, you will see the same value "-1" too. However, once a player finishes his sortie, the server will recognize that one side lost all their points (which one? dunno... both after all) and will roll the mission after 10 seconds. Mike 1

Mike As Prangster wrote, it looks like the key to keeping the mission going is to set the points very high (i.e., 99999999). Perhaps I'll write the following under "Team points per round" in the editor manual: "If you want to ignore team points, set this value to the maximum (99999999)."
