Anyone know if this will cover all levers in the cockpit?

It has 6 axis and 24 buttons so if that's the case, its more than enough :)

I have one and it will do all 6 (though I use 1 lever for wheel brakes). The coloured knobs can be changed (I have red blue black twice as they also feel different to the touch).

Im pretty sure it will by just enough. I have a total of 4 axis to play with and i need 2 more to map oil cooler and super charger. Though i believe the super charger is just a two position lever. So it could be a switch instead. Ive been looking into one of these and as soon as i get a spare 100 bucks Im Getting one.

Yes, I have one of these, and it works great for engine management. I have prop pitch, cowl flaps, oil radiator, water radiator, mixture, and supercharger all mapped to levers. You can map key presses to the levers as well, for things like the landing gear and supercharger.

I'm just a bit confused about the 24 buttons it suggests it has. I don't see 24 buttons on it unless those on the front do something, do they?

The six buttons have two position each, each lever has a button press at the bottom of travel and can pass through that for an indent for a further 6 button pressess, so 12 on the buttons and 12 on the levers, best throttle I ever bought for prop sims, not to shabby in X-plane jets either.

Here is my settings so far FYI

You could also set a 'mode' button and map up to 4 commands to each button if you felt the need.

Is there anything else out there as an alternative?  That CH product looks like its made by Fisher Price.  A bit too plastic, if you know what I mean.

It feels solid, believe me. Mine has seen a LOT of use and works like new.

There's the Saitek throttle quadrant with 3 levers and 3x2-way buttons. In the webshops I've seen, it costs 25% of what the CH throttle costs. (And it looks a little more modern.)

@ Calvamos: Itś not my business at all, but I just want to react to your statement about Saitec. I did own 2 Saitec throttle quadrants. Both started to spike real fast (in a few months) and gradually got worse to the point they were useless to me for any sim. I went ahead and purchased the CH quadrant. The CH is working flawless for almost three years now, and still no spikes noticed. I am not sure if the Saitec is cheaper when compared to lifespan. If you want to purchase either one; the Saitec has a longer travel per lever, both look like plastic toys, but in the exitement of flight I do the leveraction without looking at them, so I don't mind.

Maybe it's worth something, just my 2 cents.

Good feedback :salute:  X52 quality is not great, so I'm not surprised. And Saitek throttle is only 50% cheaper actually, not 25% like I wrote.

CH: 6 axis, 6 two way buttons = 2 Saitek quadrant

2 Saitek quadrant cost = one CH

Saitek use "0,10$" pot's...

With the Saitek, i think the chance is pretty high, that you will get spikes during the warranty. I've no experience with the warranty service of Saitek, but if they accept spiking as a defect and offer warranty (which should result in replacing the throttle quadrant) and if you don't mind sending it in every few months, i guess it's alright.

I recently bought a Saitek throttle quadrant to supplement my Warthog throttle.

The CH quadrant might be high quality, but it's just so blocky and the lever throw does not look that good.

My Saitek throttle quad has worked fine for several years now. I also use a CH fighterstick and CH pedals (and yoke!), so no fanboism on my part. The CH stuff is also several years old and works perfectly, but yes, it does look very 'plasticy' and the long throw of the levers on the Saitek quad look much better than the CH quad IMO. The CH quad also looks like it is limited to clamping it to a desk, whereas my Saitek can either clamp, in 2 directions, or just have it sat at the perfect height on top of my computer.

In the UK, the CH quad can be had for £90 ish, the Saitek quad for £55.yoke.jpg

I was also looking at the Saitek equivalent, but I read about the spikes before even posting in here and decided to go with the CH one.

Nice setup, but I think I will have to have the throttle nearest to me.

 I just copied the layout in the Lagg cockpit, its actually very comfortable with it to the left of the stick, resting on the throttle and tweaking the prop pitch and mixture with fore finger and thumb respectively. You also get four of the black knobs as well as two blue and two red, so you can switch the knobs around on the levers giving a very tactile feel as well as visual representation, not trying to sell it to you as I can see advantages of having two saitek throttles too. I weighed it all up and functionality over form won it for me as well as reviews adding weight to my decision.

I have a warthog too, that lives in a cupboard most of the time, this lives on my desk, I guess that speaks volumes ;-)

It's made with industrial-grade plastic. Nothing flimsy about it or anything else CH makes.

Yes, I've disassembled some CH's (and Saitek too). Comparing the Saitek plastic is "cardboard". :)

I ran through about 2  Saitek  x-52's in two years due to the spikes, I still have their pedals. I like them better than CH. too narrow of a stance for me. But everything else is CH, throttle, throttle Quad and fighter stick..3 years and still works like new.  Saitek pedals I've had for four years or more with no problems. I was trying for the ones at ATAG as a replacement but didn't get them (thanks Jaws! :) ) But mine work fine..thats the only hardware from Saitek  I own that I can say that about.
