Neil Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I always dreamt about getting some non armed versions in this this, and now, I can enjoy sight seeing, touring flight, simulate some cargo flights, Improve my navigation skills...(along with placing airstrips) Why is that so? Because, as there is no armement, I feel it is less distracting for focusing into flying skills, and the skins are beautiful! THANK YOU DAIDALOS TEAM!!
Wandalen Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 You posted i the wrong forum mate! Il2 Cliffs of Dover has a acro yak plane and a Thiger Moth. We can only wish for a flyable JU52.

Neil Posted April 16, 2016 Author Posted April 16, 2016 Thanks for the info annyway, i still love il2 1946 Me too! this is the father of this wonderful sim!
CF-105 Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I paid for Il-2 1946 twice, once with cash, and a second time with my school grades! 3
Bearcat Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Moved... FWIW .. I still think that pound for pound IL2 is still the best dedicated CFS in the world.. bar none.. It is the only CFS that I know of where you can fly and fight in decent FMs with decent ... not great but decent... graphics from WWI to VietNam. 2

It's been on my computers since Dec. 2001.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 It's still a great simulator. While I've been putting my time into the new Il-2, every now and then I fire up the old friend. Flying P-39s out over the sea, doing circuits in the R-5, aerobatics with the I-153... It's just a charming simulator, even if one generation behind.
seafireliv Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 (edited) Best sim ever. BOS and BOM still feels barebones compared to 1946. I miss the wealth of maps and theatres and AI commands! - And I can play an entire Campaign off line! Edited April 19, 2016 by seafireliv 2
Dutchvdm Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I paid for Il-2 1946 twice, once with cash, and a second time with my school grades! LOL. Good one. Without videogames i would have finished my education a lot sooner. 1
wtornado Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I like the Modded L-5 Stinson in civilian dress and you could use it as a arty spotter too. You could call arty strikes in IL-2 then and watch the arty hit the target.
Lusekofte Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I think IL 2 46 is the best ever of its time. I got 4 installs of that game, stock, HSFX, CUP and UP RC 3 But I play it very little now at days, graphics and game physics does not make a good CFS game alone. What I felt lacked in old IL 2 and BOS is realistic, or better said more realistic consequences for engine management and prop pitch, Then and now , you only need to wait for the overheat icon. In this regard COD and DCS is way better. For me this is important and a immersion killer. I also think this is why I fly less in old IL 2 and this game, it is simply not simulator, While patches in old IL 2 is tweaking it to be more realistic , patches in BOS tweak the planes to be easier to fly
wtornado Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 When Clod became flyable and BOS came out the gaming sim experience changed so much that it is hard to go back. 1
