Rigsby Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 What speed do I need to be at before takeoff? Even when I manage to get this thing down the runway in a relatively straight line, it's not long before I over shoot the runway and my back wheel is still on the ground. Do you push forwards on the joystick at a certain speed? And if you do can someone tell me at what speed you do this and also when do you pull back after pushing forwards? I fly DCS A10C and cannot believe these planes are so difficult to get in the air. Cheers!
Panzerlang Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Are you using pitch control? If so the pitch lever needs to be all the way forward before you increase the throttle for take off. Don't try to pull the plane up either, wait until it starts to go up by itself. The nose goes down late at about 200kmh and then the plane begins to lift off by itself. All you need then is a bit of aileron to keep the wings level (and rudder if you have a cross-wind). Once wheels are off the ground you can give a touch of elevator too to begin climbing. 1
Requiem Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Everything you need to know is in the mission description if you read it 1
Mogster Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I suspect you've got some sort of control binding issue. Try setting auto mix, radiators and warmed engine. Then move prop pitch all the way forward. Check that you're getting 100% movement in prop pitch and throttle. You should romp into the air then.
DUTTENHOFER Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 look down and left and then press Rshift and + The terminology gets a little confused from the briefing to the controls but that's your rpm limiter. The thing limiting you to like 155 kph max and keeping you from taking off.
