Mouse & Screen Freeze

I was downloading the 1.201b software when the download paused for about 2 minutes then started up again. I didn't think anything of it until I logged into the game. I later found out that I should restart the computer after each software update. When I was going into the Online/Offline screen the screen went black for a moment then came back with that Online/Offline screen frozen and the mouse cursor. Tried to double-click every where on the screen, but no change. Could not back out of the game, even after Cntl./Alt./Del. Close program screen / Task Manager came up for an instant behind the game screen. Could not exit game and had to log off computer to exit. I am trying to figure out what went wrong! I really enjoy the BOS and plan to get BOM as soon as I fix BOS. I would hate to reinstall BOS after all the gains that I have made. Find BoS installation folder, there should be a Bin, Data, and an Updates folder

 

delete the contents of the updates folder and restart the game, this should cure any hiccups that happened during the update, re-download and bring things back to current standard 

 

If using Steam version, do a verify integrity of files cache through steam library

Thank You for your help. I found the installation folder and right click on BOS to open properties and open local files, then browse local files. The Bin, Data, _Common Redist came up. Opened all three files and could not find the Updates folder. Am I looking in the wrong folder? I appreciate any help you can give me.

Went into hard drive files BOS and opened files under properties and found Bin.Data and Updates. Opened the Updates file but could not delete any of the files. Windows 7 will not let me delete any file. Is there any other way to delete the files in Windows 7? or BOS ?

Deleted everything in the update file. Did not correct the mouse freeze and the second black screen in the Online/Offline screen. There has to be a problem on the Steam site that causes a black screen to come up twice that locks my mouse on the screen with a hard time exiting game.
