Can someone tell me what the two curves represent on the Dserver graph

Disclaimer: Complete shot in the dark.

Could it potentially show network/hardware utilization?

Yep I think they do but I would like to know exactly what they are measuring, is it bandwidth, CPU usage or something else.

One person out of 6 experienced rubber banding while everyone else was stable so I am trying to see if the issue is at my end with either the server setup, my internet or the mission/AI

The yellow line represents TickDelay and if it's more than 20ms then "Server overload...." message is shown. I don't know what gray line represents.

Do you know what tickdelay is a measurement of?

The following items are what I have found out so far for the manual (still needs to be checked by someone who really knows servers well):

Server Performance Graph (Bottom of Window)

A trace over time of the percent DServer processing load relative to it's maximum acceptable processing load. Once the load exceeds 100%, the DServer response slows down.

The horizontal axis is marked in one minute intervals. The most recent data appears at the right and moves to the left.

The vertical axis is marked in 50% intervals, with 0% at the bottom and 200% at the top.

The trace that indicates usage over time is colour-coded as follows:

-  A yellow trace indicates acceptable usage levels (0% to 100%).

-  A red trace indicates unacceptable usage levels, during which server overload warning messages are shown in the mission chat box.

The curve can also include temporary spikes in the usage level, such as when an object is spawned.

SPS

Simulations per second (the number of simulation processing cycles per second). The minimum value is 50. If the value drops below 50, the simulation slow-down becomes noticable.

Note: If the value exceeds 50, the SPS display still shows 50.

Tick Delay

The time required for one processing cycle of the simulation. The maximum processing value must be less than or equal to 20 milliseconds (20ms). If the value is greater than 20ms, the simulation slow-down becomes noticeable.

I'm not seeing a separate gray line on my test server at idle. There are some gray spikes riding on top of the yellow line. I'm guessing that those would turn red if the spikes exceeded the 100% level.

Again, take this info with a grain of salt until it's confirmed.

Cheers!

Thanks Jim that's really appreciated.

Yes I mean the grey spikes, if they appear is that bad? Sometimes I saw a few of them appear when we flew....I think that is when the AI guns activate or when we fly in range of them

I believe that as long as the spikes don't go above 100% for too long you are OK.

I've got LOTS of gray spikes in my missions. They don't seem to be causing much trouble by themselves. It's the yellow line you have to watch for.

So the yellow line has to be below a certain % ?

Yellow line must stay below the middle of the graph (what Jim called 100%, I believe).

I believe the yellow line turns red when it rises above 100%.

So there is no warning or indication if the bandwidth is struggling?

Not sure. Coconut?

I downloaded a tool to monitor the network, we had 7 88s in the air and this time zero issues. Bandwidth usage was fairly small so I think 30-40 people should be possible. CPU usage was tiny as well so no issues there.

I have 11-12 Mbps up, I have changed my game to use just 1Mbps and allowed the Dserver to use 8Mbps, I guess I can probably increase that so that most of the up bandwidth can be used, nothing else uses it.

I guess we were just really unlucky and two guys must have just had internet issues.
