Where`s the I16??

Recommended Posts

I`ve been flying this sim a couple of weeks now, waiting to get the chance to fly the I16. I`m on the 3rd part of the first campaign as stalingrad gets approached, but no I16. I even see the LA5 (but it`s locked out). I`ve had to fly the Mig (sorry I mean lag) and the Yak also all the while. Not my most favourite aircraft....

Please don`t tell me I have to buy this aircraft.... :o:

Also, where`s the P40? Again no sign of that either.

You need to have purchased Battle Of Moscow to fly them.

If you don't own BOM you won't have any of those.

He said he has flown the MiG, that's a BoM plane.

Not likely being that he doesn't have BOM bar (silver or gold) under his name but I suppose you'd know better than I.

Sorry I made a mistake. I have the yak and the lagg I always get the lag and the mig mixed up. My apologies. Thankyou for your responses, fellas.

Well, this got a little more expensive sooner than I`d planned. Damn. I was all ready to get the LA5, but that might have to go on hold now.

Ok, I see...so that`s £35 if I get the Standard Edition. Will the standard edition include the P40 and the I16? What`s the Premium got that makes that one so expensive?

http://il2sturmovik.com/battle-of-moscow/ you can find all the information about what it comes with there

Thanks.

So you have to get the Premium edition to get the p40 as well.... Sheesh. i been away too long. Things have really changed.

Guess i`ll be doing extra Art work for the next few weeks.

Well if it makes you feel any better, the p40 is a turd. So going with the standard edition you will get the better planes.

You still have access to them as non flyable allies and opponents. It should ease things a bit. ;)

You can always pick up Standard and then get the P-40 and/or MC.202 on sale whenever they do a sale (I'm sure it'll happen at some point in the first 12 months).

Nothing much has changed, you did not get Pacific fighters aircraft with original IL-2, or an FW190D when you bought the 109K4 in DCS, what has changed as with DCS, is the complexity/time to produce content

I remember getting a LOT more for Pacific fighters when that came out and not paying  expensive Premium prices just to have an extra aircraft - that I remember well. Times have changed...

The weird thing about me, is I fly planes that I like, not for their performance. I like the P- 40. :(

Yea, it does. Seen both the I16, LA5 and P40 about which is nice.

Consider that the full game is premium and the standard is the budget option then there are no "extra'' expensive aircraft unless you choose that cheaper entry level alternative, some would say a cheaper option for those that wish is a good thing  :)

When you think about a single A/C in DCS can cost $60,.. ten aircraft in BoS or BoM do not seem so unreasonable, times indeed have changed, but in an expensive way!!, however the complexity has also  ;)

is the complexity/time to produce content

Not really,

complexity/time to produce content is more or less compared to IL-2 1946. Good example is the Ju-52. Very short produce time for a AI-controlled plane. If you want to fly it, ok that need some time because the Game Engine is different compared to the old IL-2 Series.

Wrong.

AI in original IL-2 had no flight model like in BoS/RoF even if you don't fly the JU-52 in BoS, it is more work, and I can assure you that the 3d model in BoS takes more man hours  than in original IL-2 as I imagine even the skin template does, though I am no expert on the subject

sorry to seem short,  but I feel your statement is so wrong that it must be commented on

For a skilled that do this everyday not much. Speed up with Photogrammetry and other tools.

At the end it all depend on how much poly this model will have.

What about all of the extra hooks for damage model, break points, connected components, etc. Some of that stuff was in the original IL-2 but we've got far more detail and many more parts to work with.

You have no clue what you are talking about, so stop it already.

Judge me by my clue, do you? It’s not my fault. Teach me your ways, Sensei
