Il-2 Gunsight Centering Problem (TrackIR 5)

Hi there,

Having a minor problem with my view while flying the IL-2's... see attached screenshots.

Basically the default, centered view is way low on the gunsight crosshairs.  When I pull in the sight even closer it only gets worse too; I can move my head higher to the crosshairs, however I'm almost semi-standing out of my seat!  I triple-checked my TrackIR settings, etc., and that was all fine.

Is this normal / realistic, or am I not hitting a certain setting for centering my view to that sight?  Something is definitely off.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Quick and easy fix :)

Using TrackIR get yourself into the proper position with the gunsight centred and very carefully reach out and hit F10 without moving your head. Now this will be the new default position whenever you re-centre TrackIR.

Hope that helped!

Put your hand over the TIR clip or hit F9 to disable, use the Ins/Del/Home etc keys to get it lined up then hit F10

Thanks for your reply!

Apologies, I should have mentioned that I do know that fix, however that seems like more of a roundabout way... is this a common thing with anyone using TrackIR?  I've seen gameplay videos with players w/o TrackIR and the camera is obviously centered on the crosshairs more.

Just wondering if this is just a TrackIR thing.

Thanks again!

This is the way I used also to correctly set up my viewpoint in the IL-2

I did have a hard time getting the gunsight right, though. I wanted to see both rings when pulling the gunsight towards me and that took quite some F9, Ins/Del/Home :)

When I use Track Ir I always tend to lower my head slightly then centre which not only gets me on point, but enables me a higher view over the cockpit. But all to their own!

Thanks everyone!

Again, just wanted to make sure I wasn't screwing up some settings or the game was acting up.  Cheers!
