[CPT]Pike*HarryM Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) Yes, you should get some sort of partial credit if you hit the target but don't get to exit point (as long as your plane is not fatally damaged and/or you bail/land/crashland in friendly territory). For those flying the JU-88, make sure on takeoff, if you have AI coming along, to fly out straight and level for quite a ways. If you turn too quickly after takeoff the AI following will stall out and crash. Edited April 6, 2016 by 6./ZG1_HarryM
Yogiflight Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 About the one He111, I had two Heinkel missions, where I had to bomb a bridge. I was both times the only bomber, and at least one time also no escort. And flying 109G, I had two or three missions, where I intercepted one Peshka, so I think it is all about simetimes a bit strange missions in the odd campaign.

You certainly don't fly 109Gs in the BoM campaign.
Yogiflight Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 And you don`t think this types of missions are not in BOM campaign?
Jade_Monkey Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) An example of how uneven the sides are when I play VVS campaign: Me and my (useless) i-16 wingman against 2x Bf109F2 and 5x He111 I love the bigger scale of the encounters now, no complaints about that. I just wish they were slightly more balanced (they dont have to be even either). Edited April 7, 2016 by Jade_Monkey
Finkeren Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) I met my first truly unfair mission odds last night. I sometimes fly short missions to save gaming time, and I had set up a ground support mission with the IL-2. My flight of just 2 Sturmoviks spawned in, without escort, right on top of an enemy flight consisting of 4-6 Bf 109E7s (I didn't stay to count them) escorted by 2 109Fs, all of which immediately turned to attack us, and since the distance between us was less than 1k, the whole thing was over in about 20 seconds. That's what I call unfair odds... Edited April 7, 2016 by Finkeren
Brano Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Yesterday I tried Warhams career "add-on" to the stock "career" . Its great when both are combined together!
seafireliv Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) Concerning unfair odds, I don`t mind it. If it happened in reality then I will accept it. War is unfair. If I find myself in an unfair situation, I will give it a go (usually give it a couple of shots) and then abort - Try to run for home. You can`t win every battle. Edited April 7, 2016 by seafireliv
TP_Silk Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Agreed, but would it not be extremely rare to run into an entire flight of battle-seasoned aces as regularly as the pilot level system seems to generate? Surely those "top-guns" (to use much more modern terminology) would be the exception rather than the rule? Of course it is good to have them in the game, but it somewhat stretches the realism to come up against large numbers of them as regularly as we do in the campaign. Having said all that, I have really quite enjoyed finding ways around the peculiarities that the game throws up and getting my unlocks done anyhow, even if some of the mechanics I have used are rather "gaming the game" just to get unlocks done. I tend to think of the built-in campaign as mostly an aircraft familiarisation course combined with a way of unlocking content rather than a true campaign and have been using PWCG for an actual campaign once I have the unlocks if I'm playing in single-player mode.
