New old il-2 fan, can someone fill me in on the last 7-8 years of Il-2 history?

ATAG Team Fusion literally saved the CloD sim.It is a real pleasure to play these days.I spend about 50% here in Russia and 50% over the Channel...

  As with many sims the first release of BoS with its unimaginative campaigns & snowy maps gave me some pause but I must say the new maps and BoM planes along with PWCG have me firmly anchored in BoS& BoM as well.The 777 team has consistantly come through with things they have promised.

 I have to admit that my break from bos was great, while they did loads of free content and after dcs the amount of content from bos seems like loads. Now I have a bunch of interesting flying experiences from theaters I was never taught in school and learning new planes I never knew about.

 

clod is still a really good game with the tf mod for its age and being brit its fun to fly over that land mass.

 

Neither game is best, both have flaws as created by humans who are not perfect, but BOS has taken a good stab at it. I'm not even phased by the unlocks any more as if you're really good then the campaign is easy, if not then its good training for multiplayer and you don't need any of the unlocks for multiplayer if you are a good pilot.

 

I think for online its good, it's fun to play against real people who are not perfect pilots like the AI can be.

 

I do prefer the photo realistic pits in clod though even though the rendered ones in bos are still fantastic.

 

I think this game makes me feel like 'You are my sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know dear how much I love you, so please don't take my sunshine away'
