Hi Veteranen if you like that type of game I have one that you would really like.

 

I used to have all the old Close Combat series games but they do not work well anymore.

 

I have Close Combat ''Gateway to Caen'' which is good and Close Combat ''Panthers in the fog''

 

Close Combat is 3rd person battlefield tactics where you control all the troops and support in historical

battles playset.

 

I bought a game this winter called  Graviteam =''Operation Star'' with all of the DLC campaigns that was made for it.

 

I love the Russian front and this games historical content..

 

It is really good graphics battles fighting with historical battles and equipment sort of like Final Blitzkrieg and

Close Combat but more complex.

 

I love it once you get into it you will have trouble to stop playing. 

 

I bought all of the DLC campaigns too.Here is the DLC list I have just look at where the battles take place. 

 

Graviteam Tactics: Hi-Res Textures

 

High Resolution texture pack featuring Winter and Summer textures for vehicles and guns,

and textures for weathering and tracks.

 

 

Graviteam Tactics: Volokonovka 1942

operations near the Shilovo village (Voronezh front) and 2 new operations for the Red Army and

Occupy positions in the Krasnaya Polyana village and break out of the encirclement in the area

of Zmiyev en route to Kharkov.

area of operations near the Zhalanashkol lake (now at Kazakhstan/China border) and new

Yes, this looks interesting.

 

I am not a fan of the Graviteam games. Combat Mission is great, but the graphic engine is quite outdated and in need of a major overhaul, especially terrain and animations. So TAC could be a good alternative, if it's really a realistic battlefield simulation and not just another RTS game like Men of War or Company of Heroes.

I'm a bit more of a Men of War fan myself. Rather looking forward to the next installment called Gates of Hell that should be out this year.
