JimTM Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 (edited) Item 43 in the release notes for update 1.201 says the following: 43. Special objects were added for scenario creators, including airfield taxi and landing signs; The Objects Library has the following sign objects in Blocks, which are used to indicate the direction to taxi to the active runway: arf_sign_forward arf_sign_left arf_sign_noway arf_sign_right The Objects Library has the following object in Vehicles: land_canvas I'm assuming that you place two land_canvas objects to form a "T" near the control tower. For standard airfield signals, the T indicates the landing direction (towards the crossbar of the T). Cheers! Edited March 31, 2016 by JimTM
Sokol1 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 (edited) image hosting over 5mb This "banner" on pole is for strafing practice? Edited March 31, 2016 by Sokol1 1
Jade_Monkey Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 They are a bit small for my taste but I'm very glad to see them included in the game!!
=FEW=Hauggy Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I thougt maps would be modified to include the airfield plans, not sure they had signs at the time.
[CPT]Pike*HarryM Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I don't think they've said whether or not they will modify the older maps to include the layout. It's nice to have in the Moscow map, but the resolution is pretty low, good for approach and landing setup not not sure much help for taxing. I have a shortcut to the airfields PDF file on my desktop so I can open it quickly to figure out where the heck to taxi to.
No601_Swallow Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I'm guessing that the "banner" is an artifact from the "Capture the flag" game mode in RoF. Maybe it works in BoS, for capturing bases, etc?
[CPT]Pike*HarryM Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Yes, I think Coconut used it in some missions where you had to capture an airfield in a tank.
JimTM Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 Thanks Jim for posting.. You're welcome Dog. We'll have to get together for a fly or even just a chat soon. Cheers!
6./ZG26_Emil Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 p.s what happens if you hit them? Do they cause damage or will your plane just go through them?
LLv34_Temuri Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 p.s what happens if you hit them? Do they cause damage or will your plane just go through them? I hope they cause damage. You could place those nicely in front of the spawn, and effectively block idiots who don't taxi from taking off accross the runway.

On that subject join me in petitioning the Devs to introduce minefields to cure that exact problem 1

Asgar Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 nah, i'm sure the minefields will be more entertaining for the rest of us

LLv34_Temuri Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 nah, i'm sure the minefields will be more entertaining for the rest of us But screws up plane availability on airfields/missions where there are limited number of planes available.
Jade_Monkey Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 But screws up plane availability on airfields/missions where there are limited number of planes available. Then they should put a rule that minefield deaths dont count towards the available planes
