6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) I know that a Fi-156 was fitted with 3xSC50 Bombs Racks for Bombs and Depth Charges for Kriegsmarine Trials. Did any Fi-156s carry Bombs in Combat as Well? I did read through Loadout Manuals and Operating ones for the Fi-156Cs of 1940, however I have yet to find a 1942 or later ones. I know a good number were converted to Fi-156Ds, but I don't know if any included Bomb Racks. Edited March 29, 2016 by 6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann 1
Juri_JS Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Allegedly there was a F or P version for anti-partisan operations. It was based on the Fi 156C-3 and equipped with bomb racks for SD2 fragmentation bombs.Information is very sparse, but it might have been used by Fliegergeschwader z.b.V. 7, which was a SS/Police unit.
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) According to this page possible armament included three 50kg, a 135kg Bomb or 48 Frag-Bombs. http://www.fieselerstorch.de/index.htm Unfortunately these sources cost too much for someone on a tight student budget like me. http://www.luftfahrt-archiv-hafner.de/ Edited May 9, 2016 by 6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann

JtD Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 The sources from Luftfahrtarchive Hafner are also mostly 1940 as well, there are a few later documents, but they don't mention bombs. All the armament mentioned is the MG15, or alternatively a stored SMG, or deluxe two SMG, or super deluxe three SMG, or a rifle, or a shotgun. External stores mentioned here - fuel tank only.

How complete are the later Manuals?
JtD Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Incomplete, really just a few documents. You'll have a complete "Bedienungsvorschrift für C-1 bis C-5" of 1943. You'll know how to change the tires. But no answer on the loadouts introduced during the war.
