SCG_Neun Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Where is the sds server configuration file located for me to enter my dserver credentials. I've got the sds files loaded within the data folder, but when I run Dserver exe everything is still grayed out for me and I can't enter anything.. I've made all the Start.cfg changes.....Not sure what I"m doing wrong....
JimTM Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 In the File menu, choose "Manage SDS". In the Configuration dialog, click the Load button and select the .sds file that you want to edit. When you want to run the missions specified in the .sds file, click Open in the file menu and choose the .sds file.
SCG_Neun Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 Holy cow...that was simple enough....thanks JimTM..
SCG_Neun Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 Guys....I have my server up, and it's listed for me..but Manu and Hund cannot see it listed. Not sure if I did something wrong...or the fact that they appear to be working on the server host location today...Any suggestions for me. I can get in and play the mission fine.....
=LG/F=Kathon Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 They don't see your server on the server list? Did you chceck external in Server IP in manage SDS
SCG_Neun Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 Yes..I noticed that and corrected...still having problems....Dserver exe is having problems now if I try and "open" sds file...I will try and catch coconut or jimtm on ts to help me... Thanks LG...kathon for reply..
JimTM Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 (edited) I'll try to help you if I see you on TS. In the meantime: - Can you please describe the DServer problem that you are now having (screenshot of error message, interface behaviour). - Do the following: 1. In the Start menu, type cmd in the search box, press Enter, and choose cmd.exe. 2. In the Command window, type "ipconfig". 3. Note the IP address beside IPv4 Address (this address may change from time to time if you reboot your router). 4. Ensure that the IPv4 address is specified in the DServer configuration dialog, under "Server IP" and double check that "External" is selected. 5. Ensure that you have created port forwarding rules as described on pg. 71 of Prangster's Mission Building Guide. Cheers! Jim Edited March 24, 2016 by JimTM
SCG_Neun Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 Thanks JimTM. I had no problem at all with my other computer...so it's an issue with the one I've designated as the "server". I will do some more checking. The good thing is in the process of all this..I'm learning a lot about how the setup actually works, so although somewhat of a pain...........I'm getting a bit more confident. Thanks for the help.
SCG_Neun Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Got it going correctly today....Was a problem with my network.....I am now a semi-Dserver expert...... 1
NN_Elanion Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I remember the link that explains very clearly the Dserver settings: http://blueorchids.freeforums.net/thread/11/dserver?page=1&scrollTo=31 Good flight for all 2
