Hi guys! I've been dealing with a rare problem in the mission editor.

The thing is that I create an airfield available to use in multiplayer missions and when I select it the airplane spawns underground and start to fall away indefinitely.

I'd like to know if someone can help me with this issue.

I'll appreciate so much!

Here's some screens and the .mission file

You can see the tracks on the runway when the airplane is falling down.

And here is the external view just after spawn.

Hi Rodri,

My PC is caput at the moment so I can not take a look at the mission but...I have developed some "must do" almost conpulsive things over the years building missions and the one I do the most is to click the set to the ground level button all the time, is the button with the green arrow pointing down over at the left top corner, maybe that's the problem here. If not, someone with access to the ME will help you.

P.S. You are from Argentina so...pásate por el foro en castellano y podremos ayudarte mejor ;)

Hi Rodri,

I had a similar problem with a single-player mission. Try this:

  1. Select all the icons in your mission.
  2. In the File menu, choose "Save Selection to File".
  3. Create a new mission with the same map and season as your old mission.
    Don't add any icons.
  4. In the File menu, choose "Import From File".
Your icons should be placed exactly where they were in your old mission.
  5. Save your new mission and run it.

I tried this procedure on my mission and it worked. Good luck!

Hi Jim, thanks for your answer. I tryied it and didn't work. Same results.

Also, i'll try importing an airfield from another working mission, just to see what happens.

Too bad about that. I did notice that airfield objects seem to end up about 1 meter lower than objects that you place on the ground. This height is not affected by the "Set on Ground" toolbar icon.

Rodri,

I didn't test this online but when I opened up your mission and did a couple of things within the Mission Properties the objects and airfields now level off to the terrain height within the ME.

First go to section where it says

GUI Map: "lapino-summer" and change the...

Season: "Winter" to "Summer". It will change back but do this first then:

Click <Apply> under  "Landscape Info:"

No need to use the terrain presets.

Second the aircraft within the airfield at Stepnoy are not named. I would name them as you did with the F4 up at Rodnik.

Good Luck with your mission designing,

Tip

**Edit. One more thing.

When I downloaded the mission I noticed that the .list file had 0 KBs

List file should have 1KB.

After I opened, made the changes and saved your mission the List file now has 1 KB.

Hi Tip! Thx for answer!

I tried what you said and still happens the same. I don't really know what other thing can I change to make it work.

I made differents missions in almost all terrains and seasons with just an airfield and try to exporting an airfield from a working mission and import it to my missions, but the issue still persists.

I just have no more ideas, so i'll really appreciate if anyone can suggest anything.

Maybe it's just a terrain bug, I think you should report it in the Bugs sub-forum.

Coconut, It seems it has been happening to some of his squad mates as well. Allways with the summer map (which I didn't play around with much yet). I also recommended them to post it over at the bug forum since it seems to be a bug with the terrain.

Problem solved! in the .mission file i had to change the line 18:

  SeasonPrefix = " ";

to

  SeasonPrefix = "su";

That's what Tip has suggested, but for some reason, when i change it on the editor's interface have non efect on that line. So i made it on notepad.

Anyway, i reallised that this codes are for the differents seasons:

Summer/Autumn: "su"
Winter: "wi"

Thank you all one more time for the support guys!

Glad you got it sorted out Rodri.

That you had to go into notepad to get the season saved for the mission to work properly is definitely a Bug.
