Silenoz112 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 My system is... AMD FX 8370 not OC'd 32 GB DDR 3 Ram (1866) MSI 980Ti (6G) Over 5TB in storage All latest drivers etc. IL2 is installed on one of my SSD's with plenty of room to spare. Have been struggling to get the game to run above 45 fps even on low/Medium settings at 1080p. Doesnt seem to matter what settings I use, it even drops below 25 more often than not. This spec will max out more graphic intensive games than IL2 so really don't understand why I'm not getting more than 50 fps at the very most.
Dakpilot Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 BoS is very CPU dependant, in single thread performance your FX8370 is pretty much on equal to a Celeron G1610 @ 2,6Ghz, it is unfortunate that your GTX980Ti is not really getting the chance to perform in BoS In many applications your CPU is one of the top performers, but not with BoS, when it is heavily loaded or unable to keep up it will also struggle to feed the 980Ti with enough info as well, having a $650+ GPU on a $180 CPU seems a little bit imbalanced Some people have found benefit from turning off AMD Turbo mode, giving smoother gameplay Cheers Dakpilot

Replacing an FX8350 with a 4790K was a huge performance gain even though I only have a GTX 770. I just very rarely dip below 50 FPS on ground and most of the time I am at 60 FPS (VSYNC). I am also affected by the stutters somtimes as many others but I think that's a different story. Mainly this happens in crowded scenarios when the FPS dips to around 55, which should be able to keep a smooth performance but for some reason it still cannot for some reasons. But the point is that switching to a 4790K was a huge performance boost.
