71st_AH_Gamecock Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 After the last update my prop rpm key binding on my X55 HOTAS not working on PE-2. It works fine on single engine BOS planes just not on PE2 This happened the last time there was an update and I somehow cannot figure out how to get it working again. Any help appreciated thanks
VonMarts Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) Pe-2 35 rpm key is same as me109 not an error Edited March 9, 2016 by VonMarts
71st_AH_Gamecock Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 Pe-2 35 rpm key is same as me109 not an error What I meant was the key I have set up (rotary dial) on my X55 HOTAS- works on the single engine fighters, but since the update does not work on the PE2. It used to work on both prior to update. I have deleted it and rekeyed it and it still wont work on the PE2. In other words I am unable to control prop rpm on PE2
VonMarts Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) Read my post again please... pe-2 35 is diferent of pe-2 87 or read Edited March 9, 2016 by VonMarts
VonMarts Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) As the cockpits for the three new planes are essentially the same as the older ones, this update will simply look at what changes can be found with the new planes: Bf 109 F-2: Max Continuous Power: 1.18 ata Max Combat Power: 1.28 ata Emergency Power: 1.3 ata and higher Water radiators: when manually controlled, they have only two positions: fully open or fully closed. Tail Wheel: lockable Adjustable Trim: Horizontal Stabilizer Pe-2 (Series 35): Prop RPM is controlled with the existing keyboard commands. Two gauges (one for each engine) show the current fuel mixture ratio. They can be found to the right of the gunsight on the upper panel. Adjustable trim: pitch, roll, and yaw Oil and water radiators can be controlled via analog or keyboard commands. Il-2 (Model 1941): Plane is fitted with an oxygen system Oil and water radiators can be controlled via analog or keyboard commands. Adjustable Trim: pitch Tail Wheel: lockable One control panel governs the release of both bombs and rockets, as well as one trigger on the flight stick. There is a switchboard to the right of the pilot that will move up & down when firing/releasing bombs or rockets and when setting their release mode. All keyboard commands for bombs and rockets are the same as before. READ THIS Edited March 9, 2016 by VonMarts
Jade_Monkey Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Its working. The pe2-35 increase in rpm is like 1% per second. It takes forever to change prop pitch. Test that first.
71st_AH_Gamecock Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 Wow, really I did read it and it said "Pe-2 35 rpm key is same as me109" Since I do not fly the 109 that really didnt make a lot of sense to me. Why can I not set this control to a different key binding i/o a keyboard command. Prop RPM is controlled with the existing keyboard commands. Two gauges (one for each engine) show the current fuel mixture ratio. They can be found to the right of the gunsight on the upper panel.Adjustable trim: pitch, roll, and yawOil and water radiators can be controlled via analog or keyboard commands. Strange that my controls for all these work fine as before. Why would my mixture, water, oil, pitch, yaw, roll all work, but my prop rpm does not I use rotary and dial buttons on my X55 HOTAS to control them and they work. Prop rpm worked fine before. This happened the last update like I said before. So are you saying the prop rpm cannot be rekeyed on the PE-2 anymore????? Its working. The pe2-35 increase in rpm is like 1% per second. It takes forever to change prop pitch.Test that first. Can you not rekey it. Is the default R shift - , R shift =
71st_AH_Gamecock Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 what is the default 109 prop pitch key binding?
Sokol1 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 In Controls > Engine tab are two settings for control prop pitch (RPM). Try assign the same keys for both an test, I use keys #1 and #2, work OK for Pe-2 Series 84 (No BoM planes there). - Propeller RPM control (Soviet) - Propellers: high pitch - Propellers: low pitch
71st_AH_Gamecock Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 thanks Ill try it. I am only having trouble on the latest pe-2 variant the 35 model The 87 model works fine with my present key bindings thats the screwy thing here. I will try and bind a key for high and low pitch and see if it works. Why the prop rpm (Soviet) does not work on this model like it does on the 87 model is a mystery to me.

It's best to just set the keybindings back to default, reference the manual, and go from there. Sorry, but you are making this harder than it needs to be.
Jade_Monkey Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 (edited) The pe2 35 is like that. No need ton iddle with any controls. Edited March 10, 2016 by Jade_Monkey
ACG_pezman Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Is there any way to increase the speed at which the keys change the prop rpm? I had to wait a good minute just to get it to takeoff rpm. Very lame.
Jade_Monkey Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Thats just how that plane is. Nothing to do with keys or player input.
