Not experienced enough to mentor, but I can help you practice whenever you feel inclined, and answer a question or two if I know the answer. Welcome to the world of speeds greater than 200km/h :)

I'm not great either, but can at least perform basic maneuvers somewhat consistently - so here's my advice for what it's worth! For taking off, these planes generate a lot of torque which needs to be counteracted with quite a bit of rudder, which is then translated to the ailerons as you lift off the ground. Watch your plane level out (that's when the noise starts to go down), which is when you need to pull back to lift off. When the plane lifts is when your earlier rudder action needs to be put into the ailerons to keep level. Pull up the landing gear as soon as you can after gaining a few meters so that you get rid of that drag.

Also, some planes benefit from the flaps being down when taking off for that extra lift. I'm flying a lot with the Yak-1 right now, in which I generally get a faster takeoff when flaps are down. Also make sure that your mixture is set to the correct setting that is appropriate for your plane - usually rich. If it's not, you won't get enough power to take off. And set your prop to fine pitch if you're in a variable-pitch craft.

Someone more experienced may be able to correct any of my points, but those are what work for me.

it sounds like you need to adjust your Prop RPM. If you don't add it in you get ridiculous torque and no power on takeoff leading to bad things.

I think for the beginning it is a good idea to start with the Bf 109 E7 or G2. The 109s have automatic prop pitch and fuel mixture, so you don`t have to take a look at this. I always put the flaps down until I can see the second black line on the left flap, Push the throttle slowly forward, so I don`t have the complete torque at once, and take off at about 150-170 km/h, smooth and the rest like mentioned by engrish_major.

When you are save with the Emil or the Gustav, try the next aircraft.

Good luck, alo of fun and welcome in this great sim.

In addition to the Bf-109G-2, the Yak-1 is also similarly straightforward. While you can extract that little bit of extra performance by fiddling with the engine controls, you will get by just fine keeping the RPM at 100%, both radiators at 80+% and mixture at 100%. At 2500m, LShift+S to change supercharger gear, and at about 3150m bring the mixture to 80%. To me at least it's the easiest aircraft to take off with. Just bring the throttle to 100% and push the rudder slightly to the left, then let it reach about 190km/h and pull.

Yes, I have to agree about the yak. True Russian genius shows by how simple they made the aircraft to operate. They didn't have the fancy engineering to help control the engine so the designed the engine to run at full everything. Kind of a poor mans Cadillac type thing lol

what im hoping to fly most is the stuka and he111,any tips for them?

Online or offline? :)

If online, the best thing you can do at first is to chat up the lads of the numerous dedicated Luftwaffe JGs out there. They seem eager to provide escort whenever they are flying, and you will need it to ward off the little red-starred hawks that swarm the skies.

I don't fly either of these regularly so I can't help too much, but there is a substantial and very friendly bomber crowd here that has a lot of experience to boot and can surely help you find your way.

one thing i just learned in offline,no more divebombing with heavy planes,i sheared my wings off a he111 trying to bomb like i did in rof with the o400

Best not done with the He-111 (though a lot of people still do it online ), but you can bring big dive-bombing to the party without losing a wing or two with the Pe-2. It has dive-brakes and a structure made to withstand the stress, and it's fast too. Later on Battle of Moscow owners will have the Ju-88 available as well for the German side, also with dive-brakes and all that.

In "the business" that's what is known as a "frag mort." From a practical POV you have three ways to ensure you are a safe distance from an explosion. 1) a minimum safe altitude to stay above when you or your wingman drop, 2) a minimum lateral distance to stay away from your wingman's target, 3) a fuse time delay on your bombs to allow for your safe escape. In your case you might have safely escaped the blast had you increased the fuse delay during your mission prep...or as you mentioned, had not flown below the frag (as in bomb fragment) envelope. :salute:
