It doesn't work.  Now there are third party programs out there that work in other games that won't work with overlay, but I haven't found one yet that works with BOS/BOM.

Devs, is there anything you can do to help?  Might be a rendering thing, but I know nothing about this stuff so I'm just asking.

Other pilots and squaddies:  Have you found a program or settings that will work?  Thanks in advance.  S!

TeamSpeak Overlay works for me. Start Teamspeak before you start BoS. Here are my settings (Settings Menu > Plugins, select TeamSpeak3 Overlay, click Settings):

At the bottom of the Plugins dialog, make sure that the API Version matches Required.

You should (hopefully) see a TeamSpeak Overlay logo as BoS starts up.

TS Notifier should work just fine. I'm using that one. Make sure you go into the TS Notifier config and make

 [Il-2.exe]
game.enabled=1

and not the launcher exe file. You might have to restart the game to see the results.

Hope this helps:)

Best,

Klas

Thanks for all the tips guys.  It seems that JimTM's solution worked for me and others in the squad.  Thanks for your help guys and hopefully this thread helps someone else out.

Funny, I was just wondering about this. My attempts failed initially but I discovered that TS needs admin privileges for it to work. Once I ran TS in admin mode it worked fine.

Hello, i used TS overlay plugin with JimTm's solution with no problem till last 64 bit patch. Now if i start teamspeak with overlay plugin ON and then IL2 BOs it just crashes.

If i disable the plugin the game runs.

Anyone else with this problem?

Same, definitely a result of the 64 bit patch. Haven't checked since the latest small patch, however.

You guys should try using TS Notifier. The latest versions support 64 bit programs. I have had no problems with it so far.

Best,

Klas

Definitely giving it a shot next time I fly.

I've tried TS notifier and it works, maybe better than TS overlay plugin. Thanks

With the new Dx11 renderer TS notifier stopped working for me. Do you guys have any workaround? Overwolf does not seem to work (never did) and TS Overlay plugin (original) does not work neither.

Run TS notifier as an admin.

I do already. Is it working in your Il-2 after the latest patch? If so: which ts3 client version do you use?

When I follow this tree I do not get a TeamSpeak3 overlay option.   What am I doing wrong?

I cannot get that and notifier to work. And I remember in COD it worked until one was updated and the other not. It always been on and off

Luse...

Im Win10 and it works fine. The one click set up doesnt seem to install the required 32bit dll in the TS3 client directory. I think it needs both the 64 and 32 dlls to work for some reason.

Go back to the TS notifer sight and look in the install instructions - there is a link there to a zip file. download that and copy the 32 bit dll into the folder in the TS3 root as detailed in the install instructions on the website.

Hopefully that may do the trick.

I trust that i dont need to mention that you need to change the 0 to a 1 for IL2.exe in the system tray menu of notifier.

Regards

It works again for me now! yay!

It seems that there was some conflict with fraps involved, but that is unconfirmed as I have not tested yet if this is really the problem. I shut down fraps and relaunched the game and there it was.

Confirmed, Fraps stopped other apps from hooking into the game.

Well I will retry it, I hesitate much because it brings back memories about this overlay business in COD. for every update it stopped working. I am getting too old for this hobby, I feel many times I rather not fly than fixing problems. But flying FNBF is shait when you cannot hear crap in TS
