6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Hi, What is the best Mixture Setting on the Alpha Gauge in the early Pe-2 series? I normally try and keep in between 0.75 and 0.8 but I have no idea wether that's correct. Help?
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Haven't tested it for the Pe-2 yet, but with the whole mixture implementation being buggy for most of the planes I wouldn't really bother too much about it tbh.
JimTM Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 (edited) Monostripezebra mentioned in a Pe-2 video that 0.9 is best. Edited August 10, 2017 by JimTM
Barnacles Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 I've been told anecdotally that historical settings are 0.9-0.95. This seems to work fine in game.
Venturi Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 For any plane, look for a transient increase or decrease in RPM while you adjust the mixture at a constant throttle setting and aircraft speed. You will soon find the setting at which any deviation from will transiently decrease the RPM. This represents a loss of power to the prop against a fixed load and indicates a suboptimal fuel/air mixture.
