TP_Jacko Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) I have my MP missions created in a sub-folder. If I try to run the server with the SDS pointing to the sub folder will this stop others being able to download the mission. It has worked in the past but I wonder if with all the updates something has changed. As I am having trouble with getting others to join my server Edited February 25, 2016 by TP_Jacko
JimTM Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Unless all the players have the subfolder, they won't be able to join. You should always have your mission in the Dogfight folder.

Wow really. I wonder what I did in the past. Hope I have not messed up my porting trying to fix it Thanks JimTM
coconut Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Strange, I've never noticed problems with my missions under Multiplayer/coconut... I'll move them to dogfight, maybe there were players who could not join my server, and I've never heard from them.
JimTM Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 (edited) I had a problem with people unable to join a test mission I was hosting. As soon as I moved the mission out of a subfolder to Dogfight, people could join. Maybe there was something else going on that I'm not aware of yet. There seems to be a lot of hoops to jump through before your server behaves and plays nice with others. Edited February 27, 2016 by JimTM
coconut Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 But did you open and save the mission again after moving it? Otherwise the list file would be pointing at the wrong location.
JimTM Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Actually, I saved it to the Dogfight folder for BoS and then copied to the Dogfight folder for the separate DServer (as opposed to the one included with BoS). So, the .list file pointer was correct. Edit: Come to think of it, my problem may have been due to saving the mission in a subfolder of Dogfight under BoS and copying the mission to the Dogfight folder on the DServer. So, as Coconut mentioned, my .list file would be pointing to the wrong place. This would mean that you can run the mission from a subfolder of Dogfight, as long as you saved the mission to the same subfolder name on your editor system. Bottom line is, make sure the .list file points to a directory that actually exists on the DServer system. Sorry for misleading everyone. Edited February 28, 2016 by JimTM
