150GCT_Veltro Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) I have some doubts about this feature. Has been ACPR modelled as default shells when we chose 37mm, or is only a standard AP? An "old" thread before the tank physic improvement. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/16124-ju-87-37cm-gun-pods/ Edited February 25, 2016 by 150GCT_Veltro
F/JG300_Gruber Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Dunno for sure, but my guess would be yes. The AP ammo we have in game have a much flatter trajectory than the HE shells, so I assume we have the faster APCR round and not a standard AP round.
Gunsmith86 Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 I can not say for sure but from the results some players geting while useing them i would say yes they are the fast APCR shells. The results whit them are matching real world experiences of pilots useing them. The key to success whit them is geting close to the target when fireing.

F/JG300_Gruber Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 300m is good. That is my personal choice for convergence. I try to fire a bit closer than that (makes the target bigger in the sight) unless there are a lot of obstacles around. But in term of effectiveness, there's not much difference between 300m and 150-200m.
Gunsmith86 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 How close is close? 300 meters or much less? 300m or less is good they used the same distance in real. Don´t try to shot to many rounds in one attack better is to get two good hits per attack and than start a new attack on the same target or the next one when the first shows signs that it is destroyed.

This. If you aim for the engine compartment of a T34 (rear section, attacked from the flank or the rear), 2 trigger pulls are enough to take him out. Sometimes it won't blow up right away, especially if you saw one of your round bounce (that makes it only 3 hits) but usually it will smoke black. At this point you want to leave it alone and focus on the other ones because the smokers will blow up sooner or later when the fire reaches critical parts in it.
ShamrockOneFive Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Good info! I'm still sometimes stuck in IL-2 1946 thinking where its pretty much the tank is alive or its dead. I realize they smoke some in BoS but I didn't realize that the fire will eventually get them. Much more detail even in tank busting!
